Description:

This is for an Advent Calendar with Handmade goodies.

This requires 25 goodies, each wrapped and labeled with the day to open. Each must be a small handmade item. These will MAINLY be CHRISTMAS themed items. You may of course include some profile themed items. Number 25 should be something nice (and profile themed) to be opened on Christmas (but can still be small).

Examples: Bookmarks, jewelry, stickers, cd's, ATCs, magnets, buttons, charms, beads, etc. (PLEASE NO FOOD for safety reasons)

Since gifts do not need to be profile specific, you can start getting ready ahead of time.

  • I REQUIRE 40 RATINGS TO JOIN THIS SWAP.
  • 4.9 Rating requirement
  • Email and postcards do not count. (I will check)
  • If you are picky, do not join this swap. You may get something you may not like and cannot rate down for it.

I have lots of handmade items from Etsy sellers. Is it okay to include a few of these? Or must they all be handmade by me?

zigg13pra 09/11/2009 #

After lots of thought.. You CAN include a FEW if they are nice. Please don't make all of them like that (not just you, anyone else too). Hope that helps!

Thanks zigg13pra --- but my intention is to make all the items myself. Life is kind of full right now and I will resort to using others (quality) work only if I can't complete and my partner agrees to the substitution.

ATCs count, but not postcards? I'm curious: why is that? Also, could we send items that the recipient can turn around and use, like handmade cards or gift tags?

"ATCs count, but not postcards?"

Because it's easy to just buy a postcard and stick a stamp on it. ATC's require more to do. If you just put a sticker on a piece of stock card and call it an ATC, you'd probably get a 3.

"could we send items that the recipient can turn around and use, like handmade cards or gift tags? "

Of course! Those would also be Christmas themed! Since they will be numbered, try to have those opened early so that they can have time to use them!

(Also, if you do cards/gift tags, I'd expect that it would be known to give a group of them, unless they are VERY nice and take a lot of time to make.)

I was thinking of handmade postcards - I put at least as much effort into them as I do my ATCs. But I can see why you might want to restrict them.

This swap sounds like a lot of fun, but I have a major time commitment for the next few weeks (including some time out of town), so I'm not going to be able to sign up after all. :^( Have fun, y'all!
