I participated in a microfiction swap a couple years ago and came out with some of my best writing. I think we say more when we say less, hence my love of the short story. Microfiction, on the other hand, is less than 400 words. But for this swap I think we should challenge ourselves even further! We will have 1 partner. We will send that partner 3 stories of fiction all under 250 words. You can send however you like as long as it's through the mail. If there is any confusion on exactly what microfiction is, here is a great example by Amy Hempel: She would always sleep with her husbad and with another man in the course of the same day, and then the rest of the day, for whatever was left to her of that day, she would exploit by incanting, "French film, French film." All participants must have no recent 1's or 3's, I'd prefer to not have newbies join but if you are a newbie please have a filled out profile.

I think that the minimalist effect of this sort of writing could hide having nothing to say or not being a "good" writer. So, why not take a chance? It could be fun :)

Hello!

One question - "3 stories of fiction all under 250 words" - do you mean that the total of all three stories should be under 250 words, or do you mean that the 3 stories should each be under 250 words?

I'm a newbie but would like to try this if you think my profile is satisfactory.

Each story is under 250 words. :) Word count starts over when you start a new story.
