For this swap we will make 1 Cabinet of Curiosity for 1 partner. It should be the size of a 250ct matchbox or larger. You should fill it with as many interesting items as you can. Typically these are filled with old items or strange things, but for this one we are going to expand what can go into it. For example, seashells, tiny pictures, stones, glass, metal bits, dried flowers, old keys, tiny vial of something or empty even, arrowheads, buttons, tiny sculptures, wood carvings, handmade clay items, fabric pieces, fibers, rhinestones, shiny, pretty, unique, ugly, scary, weird, etc. Should we happen to have any international swappers, remember most animal matter is usually not permitted into other countries (feathers, bones, blood, etc). I included some pictures for you to refer to if you are interested in joining the swap. This is my first time making a Cabinet of Curiosity. I am a little intimidated, but I have been intrigued by them for some time now. I am mostly concerned with the construction of the cabinet so if anyone has any suggestions please throw them out there for us COC newbies. This does not strictly have to be a cabinet per say...it just needs to have shelves inside to display your items (which I think have to be secured down in some way so they do not fall all over the place) and a door. http://i.pbase.com/o4/93/589293/1/54052439.jpegsP5140013.jpg http://www.eliwhitney.org/new//sites/default/files/Cabinet-of-Curiosities.jpg http://www.israbox.com/uploads/posts/2009-12/1262031813_dsc00790-copy.jpg |
