| Description: | |
| March in National Women's History Month in the USA. This year the theme is "Writing Women Back into History" (more info here), so this swap is to honor that. Send a postcard honoring a woman scientist (broadly defined: science, technology, engineering, math, medicine). Your postcard can be handmade or store-bought. Since it might be difficult to find a postcard picturing your woman scientist, handmade are certainly welcome, but so are tenuous connections (e.g. a nightingale in a nurse's hat to honor Florence Nightingale, or a store-bought Radium Springs multi-view to honor Marie Curie whose research established that radium was an element) - just make sure you state the connection! On the 'business' side, write about the scientist you have chosen to honor: interesting facts about her life, what she contributed to her field, why she needs to be more widely known and honored, something like that. 2 partners, 1 postcard each. International. Write on your postcard (see guidelines above) and send it with a stamp affixed, unless you (the sender) want to use an envelope. | |
