Description:

This swap idea was inspired by this swap here:

http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/54612

So here’s the idea: You will choose a wooden spoon of some sort, the size of a wooden spoon you stir cooking dishes with... like...:

http://www.tescoma.cz/pic/637428.jpg

And then you will decorate it in any way you like. Think of for example a kitchen witch spoon, or maybe you want to theme it in some way. A spring spoon, or an autumnal spoon. Or one dedicated entirely to a Goddess. The ideas and choices are endless! The idea is to create a lovely decorative, inspiring, magical object that could be hung up and / or placed somewhere – not a spoon you’ll actually eat and cook with. So you can use ANY materials – strings, ribbons, paper, paint, glue….. on the wood. You could also cut or burn something into the wood, symbols, runes, ogham… And of course you can tie things to the spoon – you could have crystals dangling from it, pendants, beads, …… again: endless options.

You don’t need to keep an all-natural look as I’d prefer this to be a free to create swap. But let’s just say as an example to glue bits of moss onto the spoon is a good idea while to cover it up with plastic-bag bits isn’t. :) You know what I mean?

You can work with your partner’s profile, but you don’t have to.
One swap partner and One spoon to be made.

Any questions or suggestions? Please PM me and / or discuss here. I will be away from this Saturday and a couple of more days so I will have to get back to you later – but I will get back to you. :)

Lovely idea for a swap. Any ideas on where I could get a wooden spoon from? I live in the UK.

Ohhh, I thought you meant a wooden spoon the size you use to stir a dish in a pot with, not teaspoon or eating size :-( I already got mine and started, but I don't want to send a cooking size spoon if everyone else is gonna send an eating size spoon.

Oh noes - I didn't mean it's restricted to what type of spoon. Maybe it's a German thing - and I translated it badly: I meant a spoon of at least the size of an eating spoon, but... since I'll be using a big spoon just like you, Morgaine described anyway, I'll change the text to that one. No worries. :)
