This is a twist on the altered medicine bottle swaps I have hosted in the past (and includes a little extra). This idea was inspired by @farrahs81 who won the contest I hosted looking for ideas. The BottleFor this swap you need to be medicated (or at least know someone who is)! Or else you won't have anything to stuff full of goodies for your partner. Even if you aren't 'officially' medicated a nice sized Tylenol bottle or some other over the counter medicine bottle will work. Also, it was brought to my attention during our last swap, that you can simply ask for an empty bottle at the pharmacy counter if you don't have one available. However, if you have one on hand, by all means, please use that one in the interest of recycling and reusing. Simply find one of your EMPTY pill bottles (not sample sized) and alter the outside of the bottle to represent YOU. Use any medium you would like. Send a quality piece of work. Don't just slap a sticker on it and call it done. Embellish, paint, collage...just so long as it would look neat sitting at someone's crafting station. The contents and color scheme of the bottles will differ from person to person since none of us are exactly alike. Fill the bottle with items/colors/ideas that represent you and the things that make you who you are. Be abstract if you need to since some things won't fit in the bottle. Do you love being snuggled under blankets reading a book? Maybe a mini quilt and doll house book could be included. Do you wear glasses? Maybe find a pair of small ones that were once suited for a barbie doll. The Mini JournalInclude a mini journal talking about the choices and items you included. After all, what is the point of pouring out a bottle of you if I don't know what all the contents mean? Clue your partner in about the items in the form of a mini journal. The journal can be your choice. It could be an altered mini composition book, a hand sewn book or even decorative index cards that are bound together with binder rings...feel free to use your creativity for this. Your journal should not be an afterthought and just haphazardly thrown together. Spend time on this and send only quality work! Feel free to do include more than just the reasons. Collage, sketches, art journaling and other forms of expression are always welcome in any journal swap I host. Just remember to include at least the reasons behind the items you chose. Guidelines
