For this swap, you will make 4 envelopes for each partner. You have 2 partners, so that is a total of 8 envelopes you will need to make.

The envelopes must be large envelope to send standard mail inside. (Minimum size would be 3 5/8 x 6 1/2) Please make sure they are secure enough that your partner will be able to send mail inside of it.

I will check all participants before assigning partners, but since we are a great group, we shouldn't have any problems!

So to recap; 2 partners and each partner gets 4 envelopes! :)

Have fun with this!

do you have a link on how to make a handmade envelope?

@SunshineHoneyBee - my favorite way to make a template for an envelope is just to take one that you would normally use from the store, cut it open with an X-acto knife along the seals where it is glued and flatten out the creases.

Bwabaaaaa But I want to make larger ones. A craft site or template site would rock.

this site has several different sizes and shapes http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/templates.htm

I use a piece of clear plastic to cut out templates (and to create liner templates) so it is easy to trace around and reuse over and over.

You can also buy a pre-cut set of templates from Paper-Source http://www.paper-source.com

What kind of adhesive are you using for a good strong hold?

cbpoole 05/ 3/2010 #

I use 3M's Scrapbook glue for adhesive and it works great for me.

Thanks for the template sites.I,too, just carefully separated an envelope, traced it onto heavy cardstock, and have my template!I'm going to get some of that 3M glue.My Elmer's glue is useless!

I also use the 3M glue mentioned above, but for some types of paper double-sided tape is perfect (for example magazine paper works well with double-sided tape and bubbles a bit with the 3M glue).

Can we do any medium i.e. calendars, cardstock decorated, white cardstock done up with rubber stamps, etc? Or is there a particular kind of paper? Just wondered.
