Description:

A tisket...a tasket...a green and yellow basket...or a pink and green one...or a red and blue one. I love baskets! I decorate my walls with baskets. It's an inexpensive way to brighten your home! and baskets go with any style!

After you join, please post a comment as to what your favorite color/colors are. Sender's choice as to style, but try to check your partners' profiles. A fabric -lined basket, an Easter basket, a painted basket...the possibilities are endless!

Now I realize that there are many sizes of baskets, but let's make this a medium-sized one or larger if you want. No teeny-tiny ones, please. Fill it for hearts!

This is for USA/Canada only to keep shipping costs down. I'll try an international one after I get my feet wet since I'm a new swap host!

Requirements: USA/Canada Only, please

At least 4.75 rating, please, but newbies welcome with well-filled out profile.

Please no flakers! I will angel if I have to, but remember I'm on a fixed income!

Please allow enough time for your package to arrive and contact your partner if it will be late for any reason, OK?

feel free to contact me or leave a comment if you have any questions.

This is the first of nursery-rhyme influenced swaps.

CLARIFICATION! Ok! Here's some clarification! Basket can be store-bought or handwoven and then decorated for your partner. Stay away from dollar store baskets unless you plan to really bling it up! Just buy a plain basket, but not paper, sorry. Decorate with any materials you desire-embellishments, lining, etc- but YOU decorate it for your partner. Let's try to check profiles and please our partners. Pride in your accomplishments counts, I'd say!

this sounds lovely! I want to make sure that I can honor the commitment before I sign up.

I absolutely LOVE this swap concept! I just need to clarify that we are sending HANDWOVEN, by the sender, baskets, and not baskets we pick up from the dollar/craft store :-) I'm watching for now, but if it is "handwoven" I'm totally IN!!!

What about the material for the basket? Can we use wood, twigs or other plant fiber? Must the basket be woven or can it be made some other way? Can the basket be made of cloth? Would an origami basket made of paper satisfy the requirements of this swap? If the basket does not need to be handmade, do we add to a purchased one with embellishments, lining, etc., or do we just buy a basket and send it as is?

Thanks for the clarification :-) As it takes me several hours to weave a 6" diameter basket, and customize it to my partner's profile, I cannot join this swap at this time. This is only because the option of sending a purchased "mass market" basket is in the mix. It's a great swap concept, though!
