Description:

Samhain is the Pagan feast better known as Halloween.

The purpose with this swap is to provide handmade things to your swap pal she/he can use to decorate her/his home for Samhain.

So gather a nice little package with something handmade for Samhain, it can be an ornament, a quilt block, table mats or coasters; what ever you want.

If you wish to add some knick-knacks to the package as well, feel free to do so. Everyone loves to get a package :-)

Feel free to join the sister group, "Pagan Season Crafts", to show off what you sent/received and to get ideas - for the swap and otherwise :-)

Samhain and Halloween are totally different. Samhain is an honoring of the family and friends that passed in the previous year. It is our most sacred holiday.

Halloween is a secular event about eating too much candy and their is nothing spiritual about it.

I live in Sweden, and here Halloween IS still a day for honoring of the passed loved ones, and there's everything spiritual about it.

I'm sorry if my definition offends you. I'm not defining Samhain to people who know what it is, but to people who wants to know what this swap is about.

I have added pictures about Samhain crafts (and Halloween crafts) to the Flickr group, to give some inspiration and ideas :-)

I'm with Chelsea, but I understand what you meant and am happy to join the swap. :)

Ketutar,

No worries. Your swap or definition does not offend me. In the USA a lot of christian folks misunderstand Samhain. A good majority are misled to think that pagans are evil and that we worship some god of the dead called Sam Hain at Halloween time. Unfortunately, in the USA some christian groups consider Halloween to be an unholy day and a day to kill creatures.

Obviously an error in communication. My apologies to you.

Cheers and have fun. :)

I understand, Chelsea, and no need to apologize :-) Hugs, Ket
