Description:

I was moved to create this swap after an unexpected find in the dollar bins at Target. I happened across a card-making kit for a dollar - they came in a few different themes, and had enough basic supplies to make four cards. I got one of each design I could find and took my happy self home to make cards. I loved the "instant" gratification of being able to assemble four cute coordinating cards in about half an hour while my kids played in the living room. I also thought, "I could put together something like this! I could make a happy little kit to give me a crafty boost when I'm short on time!" So, I decided to see what you all out there could come up with.

For this swap, you will assemble a kit with enough supplies for your partner to make four cards, in less than an hour. A "craft snack", if you will. Your kit should contain the following:
* Four coordinating blank cards and envelopes
* Four envelope seal stickers (a plain, flat sticker one could use to seal the envelope)
* Four ribbon elements (either lengths of ribbons or small bows)
* Four button or brad elements
* Two large non-paper elements, like a flower or embroidered piece (to be the main focus of the card front)
* Two large paper elements, like a small framed image or layered sticker (to be the main focus of the card front)
* 12 small stickers or adhesive rhinestones (less than 1 inch)

Choose your items along a theme or color scheme that you especially like or think your partner might enjoy. Be creative as well! Make the blank cards and envelopes from coordinating paper and card stock or cruise the dollar bins for unusual designs. For the large elements, consider making them yourself, and add adhesive dots on the back for easy assembly. If you feel so inclined, include a sketch of finished card ideas or suggestions. You want your partner to be able to assemble the cards easily, but you can take your time to make some creative pieces to use. I'm leaving lots of time between the sign-up and deadline for you to put your kit together, so take your time and make something you'd be happy to receive.

Last bit of business: Only swappers with a rating of 4.9 or higher will be allowed to participate in this swap or newbies with a well filled out profile - I will be checking! No recent 1's or 3's without an explanation. I try to be a gracious host and I want to make sure everyone has a chance to participate and have fun - even if that means excluding questionable swappers.

If this one goes well, I'd love to host more like this (I love kits - I'm lame like that) and for this first time, this will be a US only swap to keep postage costs down. If you're interested in hosting an international or non-US version, PM me.

Happy Swapping!

I cannot do this swap due to it being US only so am wondering if anybody else would be able to do an international version (I cannot yet due to being newbie) as it would be a wonderful swap to do. Eviebits, could you do an international one too perhaps?

Is this for non-store bought kits? I think it should be that you have to make the kit all on your own, not store-bought kits.

@HollyHox Unfortunately, I cannot do an international swap at this time - I am in the US and my postage budget is kind of small right now. If this one goes well, I may open up the next one to international. If someone else comes to me to post an international version, I will link to it here. @leecytx Yes, this for non store-bought kits. I got the idea from kits in the store, but thought it might be fun to put together our own kits and handmaking some of the elements, like envelopes and decorations.

Edited to extend deadline - I see a couple people haven't sent yet and I have had some things crop up, so it will take me longer to finalize my package and send.
