ni·ce·ty (ns-t) n. pl. ni·ce·ties
Copied from: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/niceties PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION I've updated it. It's not easy being a newbie. I became hooked on swapping due to the awesome swappers that gave me a chance when I started. To them, I am eternally grateful. I'd like to carry that torch in their honor. Being a semi-experienced swapper, I have a HUGE stash. It wasn't like that when I was a newbie. My intention is to start an open-ended series of swaps for newbies. The swap is non-specific on purpose. If you are unsure what your partner would smile about, send them a message. Communicate. Give them a few options of what you can provide and allow them to choose. For clarification: This is intended to be a one-stamp, easy swap. If you send a package, that's fine, but do not expect one in return. Make your partner smile while keeping postage costs reasonable. If you have any questions, please PM me! What To Do Once partners are assigned, you can go to the swap's homepage. In the box to the right, you will find a clickable link that says: "See the partners you send to". This will open a box with your partner's names and addresses. Please click on their swap-bot user name and it will take you to their profile. Read their profile. Choose something that will make them smile. The smallest thing can cause such happiness. The idea is to send them something they will like and add a personal touch. Let them know you care. Throwing five ribbons in an envelope is not showing you care, if you know what I mean. Suggestions include a personal note, decorate the envelope, an item from their wishlist, presenting the items in a unique way, etc. IMPORTANT: Be sure to include a note with your swapbot user name and the swap name. This is how your partner will know who to rate. Requirements A well filled out profile. Three paragraphs is not enough. The intention of a profile is so I can get to know you and what you like a little better. (It doesn't need to be nearly as dramatic as my profile, lol!) A small, lightweight, flat items wishlist or likes list. For example: notecards, address labels, postcards, stickers, etc. The goal is a simple, inexpensive swap. Don't get all huffy if I ban you. I am more than willing to do private swaps with those I ban, providing I don't catch an attitude. I do what's best for ALL of my participants. I am always available to answer questions and help in any way I can. Because I intend to angel all of my swaps, I read profiles carefully and I am strict with my requirements. I reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason. But, I will usually offer a private swap. Happy Swapping! ATTENTION, PLEASE: Because this is the next round, please be sure you have sent your previous swap out. I do not want to see newbies biting off more than the can chew (as I did, heehee) so I check carefully- what swaps you are in, if you are late on anything, your ratings, your profile (it should grow as you do as a swapper), the comments on your profile, etc. Please also check out the group: Newbie NicetiesEXPERIENCED SWAPPERS IN GOOD STANDING ARE WELCOME AT ALL TIMES (4.90 rating and above). Questions? PM me and we'll chat. :) Please do not feel afraid to approach me via PM if you have any concerns, questions, complaints, compliments, etc. I am here to help you get familiar with this swapping environment. All concerns will be kept confidential. Seriously, I'm here if you need me. . |
