Description:

Remember the song C is for the Candy on the Christmas Tree and so on? Well, for this swap we will make a little journal of 9 pages, one for each letter of the word. We will write the letter in the top right hand corner of the page - an inch or so big. Then we will write a paragraph about how we see that aspect of Christmas, do you like it, not like it, got a tradition around it, got an idea of something else you could make starting with that letter for Christmas and so on. I've made it open to a wide interpretation so we can enjoy and learn from each other.

After writing decorate the page according to the letter. So the letter C would have a picture of a candle and carry this idea through for the entire journal. You can paint, stamp, stick, colour, draw or anything else your heart desires for the decoration of the page. I hope that's clear enough. Hollar if it's not ;>)

So to recap -

0ne 9 page journal (decorate the cover too)

One page for each of the letters in the word CHRISTMAS,

Write a paragraph for each subject and decorate the page accordinately in whatever way you wish. Have fun!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't know the song you are talking about. What do the letters in the song stand for?

Gofeen 09/20/2010 #

Hi Kymm. I'll send you a copy of the song. I thought it was originally from U.S.A. but maybe not ;>) I'm in U.K. I'll try and find a link so you can listen to it as well. Anyone else who wants the words just let me know.

C Is for the Candy trimmed around the Christmas tree.

H Is for the Happiness with all the family.

R Is for the Reindeer prancing by the window pane.

I Is for the Icing on the cake as sweet as sugar cane.

S Is for the Stocking on the chimney wall.

T Is for the Toys beneath theTree so Tall.

M Is for the Mistletoe where every one is kissed.

A Is for the Angels who make up the Chistmas list.

S Is for old Santa who makes every kid his pet.

Be good and he'll bring you everything in your Christmas alphabet!

Sorry to ask another possibly silly question but do we have to stick to what the letters stand for in the song or can we put in what we want for the letters... Like C could be for Candle, or Christ, H could be for Holly, (or Holy), I could be for Ice or In-Laws. LOL

Watching for now :)

Hi Sweetypiedie. I think that would be O.K. if you want to do that but it must be a word relating to Christmas. I'm not so sure about using religious words. I want to keep the swap all inclusive. You can always check with your partner. Hope you'll join.

@Gofeen

"I'm not so sure about using religious words."

Perhaps you should have chosen a different subject for the journal - Christmas is a Christian festival!

Gofeen 09/24/2010 #

As I said you can always ask your partner and so long as both parties are happy then it's O.K.
