Your Special Craft and How You Learned It

In the "olden days," women knew all sorts of crafts (tatting, knitting, crochet, sewing...), usually taught them at a very young age by their mothers, grandmothers, girlfriends, aunts, and older sisters.

For some of us, we learned our crafts this way as well; some of us taught ourselves or took classes.

In this swap, you will send your partner a small sample of your favorite craft (it shouldn't be big or elaborate, just an example or sample), along with a note telling the story of how you learned it: who taught you? Was it fun learning? Did you take to it right away? Anything at all about the learning experience.
