Description:

I believe strongly in being as "green" as possible in any way you can big or small.

I drink a lot of coffee. I travel for work and most of the people at the Starbucks at my local airport know me by name. One of the little ways I've decided to be more "green" is to have my own coffee cup sleeve (you know...one of those brown paper sleeves they put on the outside of your cup to keep it from burning your hand).

When I order, I hand them my handmade (and very cute) sleeve and they hand my coffee cup to me sans the brown paper one. So, it's cuter than everybody else's cup AND it's saving one piece of brown paper going in the garbage.

So, basically, this swap is for one handmade coffee cup sleeve. It can be crocheted, sewn, quilted, felt, whatever. The only rules are that it has to fit a standard size paper coffee cup and it has to keep your hand from burning.

Here's some examples of sleeves from etsy.com:

And here is a pattern/instructions for making one (but there are tons out there on the web): http://www.finecraftguild.com/starbucks-coffee-cup-holder-easy-beach-craft/

I will angel if necessary, but I will NOT be happy about it. This is my first time as a coordinator so please go easy on me. ;o)

You will only have one swap partner and I will give you ample time to brainstorm and create. I know I don't have to remind you guys, but just in case...please make this something you'd like to receive yourself. Make it cute so everybody will be so excited to use it...

For my very first time I'm going to make this USA and Canada only, but if this works well hopefully I'll have an "Earth Friendly" project every month. Newbies are welcome to participate with a fully completed profile, I'm still somewhat of a newbie myself but please don't flake!! As far as ratings go, please no recent 1's or 3's.

Enjoy!!

I love the RRR swap, but I don't want a coffee sleeve. I'm definitely looking forward to your future green swap ideas though!

I've made these before from things like the cuffs of old sweaters! Great idea!

I love the RRR, but I already have a sleeve... sad. But email me when you do another RRR. I love to recycle. Urban granola!
