I have used books that have some underlining and such in them. Is it ok to send those? Looks like a great fun swap!!

I didn't specify that...I didn't really think about it because I know I would not mind recieving a book with underlining or highlighting. Ask your partner if you are unsure. That would be a personal preference as far as I'm concerned. :)
