No men? Really? Do men not cook, according to you? I know plenty of men who are the cooks for their family. I'm a woman, but even I'm offended that you are not allowing men to participate in a recipe swap. :(

I have to agree with Sillyna51 on this one. I would've joined if there hadn't been a no men rule. It seems a bit unfair. :*(

i admit my husband can't cook to save his life, but i have met many people that have hubbies that are awesome cooks. (i envy them!) and excluding men really seems unnecessary. i'm new here tho... so i have to ask - is the no inmates thing a joke or are there a fair bit of inmates on this site?

Some of the best food I've had has been cooked by men. A totally unnecessary 'requirement.' I'm not joining the swap.

Personally, I would prefer not to trade with men either. I think it would be disrespectful to receive mail from another man.

My husband is the cook in our house, I am the baker. I have to say it seemed kind of rude to put "MEN" (hubby's) in with inmates, or partially banned....is this a site made just for women?

I have never thought about inmates being on here. Now that really worries me and makes me want to get all my swaps finished and leave swap-bot. I hope their aren't any on here. I have been in a couple of swaps with men as my partner and I did feel weird receiving mail from a male to my home. My son is an awesome cook, but sorry don't want to offend anyone. I like the no men idea.

I was going to join this swap until I saw the "no men or inmates" comments. I respect that everyone has their own comfort limits, and that's acceptable; I'm sure they would also be happier to swap with people who share their same values. I have no problems receiving mail from men or inmates, both of which there are few here on swap-bot (if any for the latter).

Sorry, but I have to say that I'm disappointed in the intolerance and ignorance displayed in this. It's mail people.... just mail. It's not like there are legions of evil men magically transforming themselves into envelopes just waiting to be sent to some unsuspecting woman only to then poof into his original form and perpetrate some heinous deed upon you.

Just think about all the bigotry out there... you really want to add to that? I knew that there were some questionable elements to Swap-Bot - it IS the internet afterall... but I also thought it was a bit of a "safe place." Guess I was wrong :-(

My husband would be upset with me if I received mail from another man. I can't control how my husband feels but I can control what I do to keep him happy. I am sorry if some of you can not understand that. I do not have anything against men, but I do have something against my husband being upset with me!

I do not feel the need to defend or even explain myself for my swap requirements. Feel free to create and post your own swap requirements based upon your personal mail standards and I will not judge or assume your reasoning—this is the joy of swap-bot. You are not required to participate in any swap you don’t wish to. Feel free to find other swaps that might better suit your mail standards. Happy Swapping!
