I would like to give this a try - I have never followed a pattern before and do not know names of stitches but I crochet gorgeous blankets for family and this year was asked to do several for new babies and also one for my dd who plans to move out on her own this next year sometime and I wasn't wanting to part with the ones we already have LOL. So if this is ok - otherwise just let me know and I will withdraw.

I want, desperately, to figure out how to crochet. A few months ago, I went out and got hooks and yarn, and a beginners book... that I don't understand! I have learned the basic stitches, but can't follow the secret code that is instructions on how to make things! I will check out this video (it's got to be better than these cryptic written instructions) and if it is more clear, I will get started right away!

Had to ban someone today (really hate that) because as stated in the requirements a 5.00 is necessary to participate. It looks as though there will only be the two of us. (12-13-07) If you'd like for me to cancel, I completely understand.

If you have crocheted many scarves before, can you still join? Do you have to make the one from the video or can you use other crochet patterns?

Yeah, i kinda wanted it to be a crochet-a-long thus the link to the video. It is a rather simple scarf so any degree of beginning crochet expertise will do.

Pattern consists of single crochets and chains.

I'm not a beginner but this looks really fun. I've never tried doing fringe like that, and I love crochet-alongs! Hope you don't mind if I jump in at the last minute. :D

I made one for practice for a friend and she loved it - as did I - so I am working on one for myself too and will love to swap out one with someone. I am looking forward to this swap and I do not care if it is just a one on one trade :)

Thanks so much!

Picked up my yarn -- noting my partner's profile! ;) -- and started my scarf today. I love this pattern! It seems easy enough for beginners and fun enough for crocheters of any skill level. Hopefully this swap will lead to more swap-bot CALs in the future! Hope everyone's having a great holiday season.

I finished crocheting last night and will pack my scarf up for shipping this week- I hope my partner enjoys it - please remember I am a beginner at this following a pattern stuff...LOL My daughter says if you don't like it send it back she will wear it he he - gotta love those teens!

Came down to the bitter end (really, haha, it's snowing!) for me to package this scarf up, but it's in the mail! :D I really hope you'll enjoy the finished product. I'm proud -- for such a simple pattern, the result looks quite fancy! & I still hope to see more crochet-alongs in swap-bot's future!
