Description:

This is for people who love to zentangles!!!

This is round 2. Once again you will be doing a 5 zentangle pages and a Bio page

On the first page you will write a short introduction, along with your profile name and your address.

On the second page you'll start adding zentangles pages. Please start each zentangle on a new page! And fill that page at least 2/3rds of the way full. They can be either black and white or colored. Or even a mix of both. Fill only front of each page so that there is no worry of bleeding through and ruining anything.

You can also fill in extra pages with zentangles if you like BUT you must have at least 5 pages of zentangles.

When you have your 5 Zentangled pages finished, you'll ship the notebook to your swap partner.

This is a swap series. On the next round, you will add an intro page (with all the above listed info) and 5 zentangled pages to the notebook you received in this swap, or (if you're just starting with us) you'll buy a new notebook and join in!

If you are just joining this series you will need to buy some type of blank journal or notebook. Journal should be around 10.5 x 8 Inches. And have between 50 - 100 pages.

If you fill the last page of a notebook then you will ship it to the next person. If you're the one who RECEIVES a FULL notebook, then you can keep it and buy a new one to start the swap with.

The goal is for everyone to stick with this swap long enough to receive a full notebook.

PLEASE NO FLAKERS !!!!

How many people did you have participate in the first round? I'm curious about this concept. Thanks!

LunaMoody 07/14/2011 #

Only 4 but I hope more will this time. There was a number of watchers so may be this round they will join.

Is it ok if its a lined journal r should I get a sketch book thats unlined?

LunaMoody 07/17/2011 #

A sketch book that is unlined would be better. That way there are no lines to take away from the beautiful art everyone will be making

I don't think mines are perfect but I want to give it a try. ^W^ & can I make my own notebook, Cahier.

LunaMoody 07/19/2011 #

Yes you can make your own notebook

LunaMoody 07/24/2011 #

Please everyone who is watching this swap give it a try. It's fun. I got my first book from my partner in round 1 and she did a awesome job. You can do any type of zentangle you want.

I think I know what a zentangle is... at least, I have made similar looking types of doodles for years, before I ever heard of zentangles. But are there specific requirements to follow to make a zentangle? Can you explain exactly what I have to do? I just want to make sure that what I will do actually qualifies as a zentangle since this would be my first zentangle swap!

Hi charophyta

Here are some great web sites that show how to make different zentangles

great !!!

I'm a little confused here...a 10.5 x 8 notebook is pretty big. A zentangle is 3.5 x 3.5 - so, would I draw two zentagles directly onto five pages? ...or adhere my tiles onto the pages..? I can't see tangling five entire pages (or even 2/3) that big. Also, how much could I expect to pay for int'l mail for a notebook that large and that many pages? Also, why would my address need to be in the bio info? Maybe just your country or state? Sorry to be difficult!! I'm really interested and excited about this idea, but I'm a little unclear on these details. Sorry - really. I'm a details person. Somebody help me...I'm talking and can't shut up! :)

Hi Annieroonie

I said the book should be around that size. It doesn't have to be that actual size.

As for the size of the zentangles for this swap you are to make them big enough that they cover at least 2/3 of the page. If you are unsure how to do that you can make smaller ones on the pages as long as you add enough to cover 2/3 of the page.

As for adding your address if you are not comfortable with that then don't put it. I just thought that it would be nice to know who did the art work and have a way to contact them. You can put your email address instead if you like.

And lastly I just mailed one off to Australia for a friend and it only cost me around $3. As long as it doesn't have a hard back cover it shouldn't be to heavy or cost much.

Thanks so much for your patience! I love zentangle and would love to end up with a journal with 5+ tangles by several different people. What fun! Count me in!

great : )

Man! I have a gripe! I have been trying to find a basic, cheap notebook without lines to use for this swap, but apparently they don't exist. I have tried Target, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, OfficeMax, and Walgreens. Every store has piles and piles of notebooks which are exactly what I want, just the regular spirals or composition books, except that they ALL have lines. These cost between 40 cents and $2. And most stores also have some fancy sketchbooks, with thick paper and hard covers, which all cost at least $8-15. I'm not going to spend that much! Some also have sketch pads, but they look like the pages are made to be torn off, like they might not stay bound together if the book is being shipped around and used by different people. Unless you guys have some tips for where I can get a bound notebook that's unlined for less than $5, I think I'm going to have to try my hand at making my own notebook! Where did you guys find yours?? Or is everyone making their own??
