Description:

Well I have done two of the souvenir pressed penny swaps so far and they seem to be popular so I thought I would do one for the pressed penny books!

You will have 1 (one) partner. Send 1 (one) pressed penny (coin) to your partners. I am going to make this international to see what kind of cool designs they offer all over! The books shouldn't be too costly to send as they dont weigh that much. The books must be new and store bought. No home made books.

Where the books can be a little more pricey/hard to find I will need to restrict this trade to people with a rating of at least 4.8 and no recent ones or threes.

Um, it's just a thought, but 4.5 is quite a low rating - allowing people in with such a bad rating isn't really restricting it very much... 4.8 or 4.9 might be better.....?

sounds good I'll raise it to 4.8 :)

Any suggestions on finding the coin books? I have only ever found two (which I bought) and they are pretty boring. Well, obviously the internet, duh. But if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear.

We have a bunch of pressed pennies, but we don't have them in a book..where do you get a book? So in order to be in this swap the penny has to be sent in a book? Just want to check before signing up :)

Most gift shops sell the books too, if they have a penny machine. Most places will let you in the gift shop without paying admission to the attraction. The books run from about 5 to 10 dollars each, depending on if they have a special penny included.

Like tiggerski said a lot of the places with the machines sell the books in the gift shop. Try looking at pennycollector.com to find machines in your area. You can always try calling the places and asking them if they sell the books before going there in case you don't want to drive out and find they dont have them in stock.

This swap is for the books, not the smashed pennies. Although I'm sure your partner wouldn't mind a smashed penny in the book to start it out :)

If the books are boring to you they might be cool to someone else. For example if you get one that just says your local state or park that's something that your partner might not be able to get. :)

I haven't ever found any with a location on them, they are always "Penny Passport book", with blue cover. I looked online and didn't see anything interesting, outside of Disney. I guess I give up! It's a great idea though, I just have never found any interesting ones (and I shop a lot)

I know rainforest cafe does them as well, the blue books are fine with me. I saw one up at the local place with a us flag smashed penny on the cover and had to resist buying it in case I got one in a trade :)

Thanks for the tip about looking for the machines location online - I just found one at an information office I would never have thought to look there! And they had the collector's book with pictures from our state on the front - got one to swap and of course one for myself!

If they are not out of stock, the penny website has the blank books that you can make your own cover to slip into the sleeve. You could custom make a cover for your partner.
