Hello! I've been snail mailing enthusiastically with friends near and far since the beginning of 2018, and having lots of fun with it.
I am 36, married, and childfree by choice.
I am currently OBSESSED with Mrs. Grossman's stickers. Actually this isn't new - I was obsessed with them as a kid in the late 80s, and now I make more money than just an allowance and can buy my own, so I have become obsessed with them once again! I belong to their monthly sticker club, and also make occasional extra orders.
Reading - mostly literary fiction and memoirs. I love Harry Potter, Ann Patchett, Elizabeth Gilbert, Anna Quindlen, Cheryl Strayed, Jennifer Weiner, Meg Wolitzer, Curtis Sittenfeld, Jeffrey Eugenides, Judy Blume, David Sedaris, and many others.
Broadway - I take trips to NYC twice a year to binge on Broadway shows, usually seeing 4-6 per trip (mostly musicals, but occasional plays too).
Modern quilting - I worked part-time at a quilt shop for several years. I love bright/saturated colors in modern arrangements. Raw-edge applique is a favorite.
Growing pumpkins - I have my own pumpkin patch where, last summer (2018), I grew 65 plants of 9 different varieties (which yielded 263 pumpkins). I LOVE pumpkins, any time of year!
Personal Finance - I read lots of personal finance blogs and books, and am always messing with my personal expense/financial planning spreadsheets.
Baking - I used to have a baking business and still do it all the time as a hobby. Cake pops are fun (though often tedious). Last year, through a LOT of testing, I developed a blueberry muffin recipe which I consider perfect, and am happy to share it :)
Travel - I love to combine travel with other interests. For example I went to London in 2016 to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and to visit Highclere Castle (a.k.a. Downton Abbey). In 2017 I went to Houston to see a favorite Broadway singer perform with the symphony there.
I also love: Cats, typewriters, summer camp, Montana, pink/purple.
In general, unless it's a specified part of the swap, please don't send me any extra items. I appreciate the thought, but am starting to collect too much stuff! I do love decorated envelopes however :)
Please avoid: Food, tea
I am NOT an amazing artist by any means, but I have fun with mail and do my best. Thanks for reading!
