I'm an artist, crafter, Girl Guide leader, aspiring polyglot, and slightly nerdy!
Here's a few things I've made in the past:
Crochet Firefly Hat / Guitar Player Painting
Jupiter Embroidered Pendant / Galaxy Embroidered Pendant
Pop Art (Photo Editing) / Pet Portrait Painting
I love crafting, especially needlecrafts. I love embroidery, cross stitch, knitting and crochet, and I'm toying with the idea of trying out weaving...
I also draw and paint, but not as often as I'd like.
I host my own craft night once a month with my friends, there's about 10 of us who are regulars, and 4 or five others who turn up occasionally. We meet at my house, so I'm thinking we're going to have to find a venue soon to accommodate us properly.
Once a week on a Monday evening, it gives me great pleasure to help run a Girl Guide unit (will be called Girl Scout troops in some other countries).
We go camping, make fires, craft, cook, build things, learn things, help the community and much more. Being a volunteer for Girlguiding UK is one of the best things I've done! I definitely recommend it!
I've grown up bilingual in Wales, so speak English and Welsh as my native languages.
I learned French and German in school, but forgot everything since I had no need to use them. Anyway, seventeen years later, I've rekindled my love for languages, so I'm studying French, Swedish, and have a strong interest in Japanese, and Polish.
My language wish list also includes BSL, Hindi, Spanish and possibly an African language - Swahili perhaps? I've heard it's relatively easy to learn. Maybe Afrikaans since I know someone who speaks it... I'd also love to learn an Arabic language, but I have no idea which one and they look really difficult to learn.
If you feel like writing a phrase or two in your language with my swap, I will be super excited to receive it! Any language! 💚
🇫🇷 Si vous pouvez parler français, j'aimerais que vous m'écrire en français s'il vous plaît ! J'ai besoin de pratiquer :-) merci !
I'm open to receiving anything and everything, but I'm NOT interested in any religious imagery (though I am interested in other cultures and happy for you to tell me about your faith), no kawaii, no loose glitter, no buttons or anything pink. I love a pretty dress from time to time, but I'm not a girly girl!
I have a caffeine sensitivity so no black teas please. I can tolerate a little but if I have too much (more than one cup in a day) it can induce a migraine and I get palpitations so it's best to just avoid it completely. Please write the use by date on individual wraps!
I have a long list of other stuff that makes me happy, which includes (but is not limited to):
I'm looking forward to swapping with you!
Although it's possible to join up to 20 swaps, I will only ever join up to 8 at the most to ensure I have the time to spend on your swap. I really don't want to put myself in a position where I'm the flaker! There may be times where I actually have more than five on my dash, but this is only when I might have completed the swap in an evening and its going to be posted the next working day.
I take my swaps to the post office so that I can get proof of postage. This is a receipt that has the address of the recipient also printed on it. I really don't want to get a 3 or a 1 just because the item has got lost in the post, so at least this way I can prove that I sent the item on time! I will resend!
If I'm sending a parcel, your swap might not come in the most attractive packaging (unless the swap specifically requests it). To save money and the planet, I recycle things like jiffy bags! The swap itself will be the best quality of my ability, so don't let the packaging put you off!
If I haven't been rated for my swaps after a couple of weeks I will message you, to check that the parcel has arrived and you haven't forgotten to rate! I value every rating and I respond to every one 💚
Please contact me if you get me as a swap partner and you are stuck for ideas! Hopefully my profile should be enough but if you were hoping for more, let me know - I don't bite!
