I'm a mom of two girls (ages 9 and 10 just 14 months apart) Our beloved Maine Coon cat Mittens passed away two years ago however this year (2022) we adopted a beautiful blue creme Maine Coon coon we've named Sushi! I live on a small island in Maryland and we love it here. I used to be a network administrator and I adore all computer geekery. (I hail back to the BBS days!)
Bookworm might be an understatement with how much I love read. Check out my goodreads profile above!
I mostly read Fantasy with a bit of Scifi and non fiction on the side.
I'm always looking for book suggestions!
Games:
I've been addicted to an online game called Everquest since 1999! I play a gnome enchanter, a high elf cleric, and an iksar necro.
Crafts:
I mostly make things for my girls. Hair clips, felt dolls, felt crowns, stuffed toys. I'm learning slowly how to use a sewing machine but I mostly hand sew for now. I also love to make them clip on earrings and other jewelry. Before having kids I knit occasionally and liked to make hand made greeting cards.
The past couple of years I've been making things from wood! I still don't enjoy the noise a saw makes, but making my own raised garden beds, a stand for my front loading washer and dryer, and a dress up chest for my girls makes the noise worth it.
I enjoy drinking tea and listening to music while I craft or color. I'm so happy for the sudden influx of adult coloring books the past few years! I mostly listen to alternative music from the 90's with the occasional emo band thrown in. I let spofify suggest newer bands too.
I hope to try my hand at some ATC's soon, I used to love to paint and now that my kids are getting a bit older I'm hoping to find the time again soon.
I'm heading back to college to switch from being a network administrator to programmer. I'm loving the whole work from home flexibility and no nights and weekends like my old career!

Hi there! I see we have a dislike for cooking in common. :) Cooking is my least favorite thing to do! I can cook, I just don't like too. I do enjoy baking though; to me that's not cooking. Our ongoing joke in my house is...the only reason we have a kitchen is because it came with the house! I hope you enjoy the images below and have a great weekend!
Sending a big Texas HOWDY to you, Lisa!
It sounds like you make alot of super things for the girls. Now you need to learn to quilt. It's just straight sewing on the machine - easy peasy. But I warn you, It's very addicting. Once you get started quilting you want to do more, more, more. Then you wind up with a bunch of unfinished projects because you just couldn't wait to start the next one. Those girls will enjoy sewing with you too. Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs!

Hello from chilly West Michigan! While I love Michigan for our beaches I'm disappointed to already be having snow flurries, I send you warm wishes for the holiday season!
