Hello, My name is Jessica and I live in the beautiful pacific northwest. I'm a fish, I love living near the water and don't think I could do without the ocean within driving distance. I am a dental assistant and am going to school working towards dental hygiene school. I am new to the craft and DIY scene. I LOVE anything with an owl or bird on it. I am a sucker for any product, especially bath and beauty products, that are new. I am a girly girl. I love anything vintage looking with lace, or a bow, or as my sister says "anything grannie looking." I am an animal lover. I have two very spoiled kitties. I have been looking to join some swaps for a long time and finally found swap-bot and am SO excited to start swapping.
My favorite craft is embroidery, but recently have learned to crochet, use my sewing machine, and needle felting. I found that these crafts are a great stress reliever for me, as sort of therapy I guess. I am excited to meet people who love the same things and hope to learn somethings along the way. I have also become interested in gardening and terrariums.
I guess if I had to put a label in my music it would be of the emo/folk/indie/alternative brand. Some of my favorite groups and singers are Death Cab for Cutie, Kings of Leon, Black Keys, Alice Smith, Citizen Cope, The Shins, Mumford and Sons, Lydia, Florence and the Machine just to name a few. Recently I have been obsessed with Gotye "Someone I used to know", Fun "We are Young", and Young the Giant "Cough Syrup." The "Fun" station on Pandora seems to fit me well these days.
My all time favorite movie is Annie! I can't get enough of it. Some of my other favorites are Gangs of New York, 500 Days of Summer (I LOVE Joseph Gordon-Leavitt---swoon), 50/50, Papillon, Garden State, 28 Days Later, Mystery Science Theater, Pineapple Express, Bridesmaids. I just watched I Love You Man, really funny. Jason Segal is great.
The last books I read was the Hunger Games trilogy. I am currently reading The Dark Monk. It is the sequel to The Hangman's Daughter. That was a good book, a definite page turner. The sequel is good, a little slower than the first but it is a good read. I have also recently read Room by Emma Donoghue. That was a pretty good book, it took me a little bit to get into because the writing is a little different but it's worth the read. I really enjoyed The year of Living Biblically by A.J. Jacobs. I'm not a religious person and really enjoyed this book. It is humorous but heartfelt at the same time. I don't have a specific genre that I like. I just browse and read whatever sounds good.
