Hi there! My name is Lenna and I am a 46 year old woman from Greece. I have studied English and European Literature and I also have a Master's degree in Literary translation. I currently work as an admin assistant at the Vascular Surgery Department of our local teaching hospital and I am in charge of the department's research projects and studies, but also the daily running of the secretariat. I was born in Prague, Czech Republic- a place I hold dear in my heart-, studied at Essex University in the UK and now I live in central Greece with my husband and 7 year old twin boys. Every day with them is an adventure!
I am quite open-minded about things and respectful of other people's beliefs and cultures. I can be very social, enjoying the company of my friends, but I can also be very private (to the degree you can be private with two seven year olds at home). I am not religious (rather spiritual in a wider sense), but I am fascinated by ancient female goddesses and the wisdom they carry. I am particularly drawn to triple goddess Hecate and her rich symbolism. I am also inexplicably drawn to sharks (both fascinate and frighten me), so if there is such a thing as a totem animal, then shark is definitely mine.
I love travelling and exploring new places, reading literature (I adore horror literature), writing, watching series, cooking, baking, pastry making and arranging elaborate playdates and themed parties for my boys. David Bowie has been the love of my life, but I also enjoy the music of Queen, Sisters of Mercy, U2, Massive Attack, Portishead, Dead Can Dance and Loreena McKennit.
I can't stand racism, cruelty, fanaticism, ignorance, proselytizing, stupidity and cruelty against animals.
I would love to receive little surprises for the twins, appropriate for 7 year olds:
They would be very happy with:
- Anything with their initials T or G
- Individual playmobil figurines.
- Anything Halloween
- Anything Ghostbusters
- Anything Lego Ninjago
- Anything ghosts, spiders, monsters or aliens
- Stickers with ghosts, aliens, skeletons, spiders etc
- Little gifts for their advent calendars
Please note that I'm allergic to artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose and saccharin! I also try to stay away from heavily processed food with many artificial ingredients and flavourings (Es) and lean towards more wholesome foods.
Other than that, I would happily receive any of the following:
-British short bread biscuits
-British mince pies
-McCormick's Chili con carne seasoning, which I love but cannot get here
-Deli mustards or relishes
-Anything with blueberries or raspberries
-Marzipan filled chocolate
-Turmeric (spice)
-Tiptree (Wilkin & Sons Ltd) mini jams and savories
-Bonne Maman mini jams
-Anything local that you would like to share with me
-Packaged spices from where you live (I would love to get some pumpkin or applepie spice mixes!)
No-no foods & drinks:
-Anything mushroom flavored
-Licorice
-Heavily processed food or food with too many chemicals
-Teas and herbal infusions. I am a coffee person!
I have plenty of cosmetics and make up that I am trying to go through, so unless otherwise specified, please do not send any such items, with the exception of the ones below:
-Nivea face masks (individual portion) for combination to oily skin
- Hair masks
-Nivea or Biore nose strips (even one will do!)
-Lush soaps
- A quality navy blue kohl eyeliner.
- Travel size toiletries
Please no cosmetics from the dollar store, they will go to waste as I can't use them!
-Anything used or dirty, unless it is a second hand book or cookie cutter
- Anything musty/mouldy/cigarette smoke smelling (one of the twins has allergy issues)
-Cats and assorted cat hair
- Twilight or any other teenage vampire saga, I absolutely detest it
- Fridge magnets-my fridge is built in, so no room for fridge magnets
-Guns and anything related to them
-Anything proselytizing (religious or political)
-Anything smelling too fruity, the smell of peppermint
-Fabric scraps, yarn, threads-I cantt sew
-Fluorescent colors
-Handmade dolls-for some strange reason, they freak me out!
-ATCs, inchies and matchboxes, I do not collect them and I have no use for them!
-Faux fashion accessories and earrings, I am allergic to them
-Clowns
-Postcards
Cat fur (please please please keep them away from the things you send me-thank you!)
Aspartame and similar artificial sweeteners
Faux fashion accessories
I am not so good in crafting, so most of the items you will receive from me will be purchased. My favorite types of swaps are Lucky Parcels, monochromatic swaps, scavenger hunts, food and profile surprises. I am open to private swaps if anyone is interested, but only with well established swappers.
I am not at all offended by nudity or adult content swaps. Vulgarity, however, is another issue.
I rate the moment I receive something. If I have not rated you, it means that I have not received yet!
I am quite cool about swapping, I am not here for the drama, I am here to unwind, have fun and get to know people and their talents. However, I will appreciate good communication. Let me know if you're going to be late or have any other problems. But please do that. I had so many of my partners flaking that I'm seriously running out of patience.
I would never think of flaking. If you don't get my package on time, please get in touch and we will work something out!
I re-swap items I don't like or have no use for (or can't use because of my allergies). Please don't be offended, but I don't see why they should sit in my drawer, when somebody else can enjoy them!
I put time and effort to my swaps and go through my partner's profile, to make sure that she will like what I send. I expect the same in return. I have no use for crappy items just thrown together in order to barely meet the swap requirements. My motto is treat others the way you would like to be treated-in swapping, but also life in general.
