Hello!! I have been on a hiatus from Swap-Bot for about two years, but I recently dropped back in (that itchy need to swap can't be ignored forever!) So... I am a 31 year old stay-at-home mother of four ages 13, 11, 9,and 7. Three boys and one girl.
I have been married fourteen years to my sexy soulmate, Shane. He affectionately refers to me as a tree hugging hippee. I have been slowly converting our home to greener ways of living. I really hate waste and try to follow the three R's as much as I can. I also make most of my daughters/my clothes from thrifted fabric. When you have a large family like ours, you find ways to makeover old things to new. I LOVE tattoos, skulls, and Roses. I am almost always willing to try new things.
My husband and I are up to our eyeballs in Scouts. We are both Cub Scout den leaders in our local pack. And now that our two older sons have crossed over to Boy Scouts, my hubs is also an Assistant Scoutmaster with the local troop. And because that didn't keep us running enough... our daughter is now in Girl Scouts as well.... and I'm the Assistant Troop Leader for that too! What can I say? We are a scouting family!!! We enjoy camping, hiking, and fishing. I love to sew, quilt, crochet, knit and read. I also do cross-stitch.
MUSIC!!!!! I live for music!! You can keep the TV, give me tunes!! There isn't much I won't listen to, but my favorite musicians are my two oldest boys.
My Husband would say anything in print but I disagree. All books are NOT created equal! I LOVE the Harry Potter books, except DH, I'm pretending that one doesnt exist. My all time favorite auther is Barbara Michaels, who also writes under the name Elizabeth Peters. I also enjoy Kristen Britain, Sharron Shinn, Mercedes Lackey, Andre Norton, Robin McKinley, and J.V. Jones. I love good mysteries, and fantasy. I also read manga when I can get my hands on it (very hard to find around here) My favorites are MeruPuri, Fruits Basket, Hana Kimi, Ouran High School Host Club, and From Far Away (which I havent been able to find at any used book store so I have only read online)
My all time favorite movies are The Labyrinth and The Spanish Main ~a slightly cheesy pirate movie from 1944... IN GLORIOUS TECHNICOLOR!!! What can I say? I have a small obssession with Paul Henreid (mostly his work in the 1940's) Also love Howls Moving Castle, Castaway on the Moon, the new (2010) Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tin Man, All the Harry Potter movies, and Much Ado About Nothing.
We actually don't have TV as most people do. Once my children discovered that they could stream Netflix to the TV, I cancelled the cable. And where we live you can not even get basic channels without cable/dish... but they think these great new cartoons like ThunderCats, Yogi Bear, The Pink Panther are soooooooo much cooler than what was on the box anyways, so who am I to argue?? Not to mention I've introduced them to Dr.Who and the original Star Trek. :) TV doesn't get much better than that!
My favorite craft would have to be quilting. My great grandmother taught me when I was very young. I have worked my way from simple doll size tied block quilts to a king sized double wedding ring quilt for my sisters wedding gift.
I love fabric! I try to use diferent textures in my projects. I also try to experiment with a wide spectrum of colors and prints, but my favorites have to be Asian prints, jewel tones, black/white, novelty prints, and pink/brown.
As far as other crafts...... I mentioned some in my about me section, but I also make ATC's, Altered game pieces, I like turning odd whatnots into jewlery, LOVE playing with bottle caps, and making greeting cards (though that I take in spells when inspiration hits)
I really enjoy making something from nothing... using what I can find to make new, funky decorations, jewelry, bedding, or clothes. I haunt thrift stores looking for things to be repurposed.

I'm sorry but I need to drop you from Beginner's Cross Stitch at this time. Not sending on a swap you hosted is a little unsettling. If you drop back in and take care of the 1 feel free to re-join the cross stitch group.
