I live in small country town in Queensland Australia. Living in the Australian bush means I have kangaroos around my house every morning - a great sight to wake up to.
I live on 5 acres and have become a keen gardener of Australian native plants. Very rewarding as it attracts flocks of Australian parrots - noisy but colourful!
I work full time in managing our environmental resources which is a great field, but we fight for every cent of funding.
Have 3 grown up sons doing their own thing and my husband and I travel as much as we can - an expensive pastime when you live in Australia!
We have a family challenge going on ... well really a dare from the younger generation in our family. We are trying to get a postcard from every stat in every country in the world. Our time frame is 2013. Tough challenge but loads of fun.
I really like all postcards and will be happy with anything you send me. I do enjoy those 'chessy' touristy postcards, especially if they have the name of where it comes from printed across the card. Fits in with the family challenge and is proof of origin!
I also love cards of native wildlife and small out of the way places.
To my American friends. I would love to have all your map cards and Capital cities. Here is my list of missing ones ... if you happen to have something in your cache!
Map cards I would love (only 2 to go): Rhode Is, Tennessee,
Capital cities I would love ( list is starting to dwindle) : Lansing, Little Rock, Hartford, Topeka, Frankfort, Augusta, Jackson, Jefferson City, Carson City, Providence, Pierre, Montpelier, Charleston, Cheyenne

Hello Penny, I just recieved your beautiful PC from Australia this week. It is lovely, as is your national anthem. I appreciate the explanation on the back about "God Save the Queen." That made me smile. Thank you for sending me this thoughtful gift! Jenny712
Hey Penny! I'm your partner in the post card swap (5 cities) I'm from Kentucky, and I noticed you are in need of a Frankfort post card. The one I'm sending you is unfortunately not from Frankfort, but its summer time here and I am in need of a road trip :) I'd be happy to send you a pc from Frankfort some time this summer!
