I am not going away- but I am winding down and will be taking a break in parts of August & September because I am traveling.

Don’t feel you need to send extras. I am here to connect and make art. I give hearts based on your effort.

How I spend my time: I work in management at a museum. I care about my job and museums as institutions. In general I spend time on my interests: nature, art, birdwatching, drawing, sketch books, embroidery, and Postcrossing. I like to go camping, canoe and generally to hang out and look for things in the woods. I am in my 40s and live with my husband and 2 cats.

My cats are named for characters in a very funny book written by my favorite author of Comics/Graphic novels (Neil Gaiman) and another favorite author (Terry Pratchett).

I like literary fiction, speculative fiction, and graphic novels. My favorite graphic novel at the moment is an adaptation of Octavia Butler's the Parable of the Sower that came out.

The best book I read recently was by Warren Ellis: "Nina Simone's Gum". Seriously. Trust it.

• Postcrossing - the forum is my favorite place to swap

• Animals who are RIDICULOUSLY cute or weird. Examples:

  • Pika (cute)
  • Spoonbills (weird)
  • Red panda (cute)
  • Opossum (really bizarre)

• In general- unusually small things.

• ATCs
• Foraging
• Birds
• Native plants
• Puzzles both picture and logic
• Wordle and many of its spin-offs.

Alliums (shallots, onions, leeks, garlic - they make me sick.)

Polarization. I don’t hate you if you don’t vote like me. I don’t hate you if our countries don't get along.

Swarms. They creep me out.

Glitter.

I am woefully behind on everything. We're going to have to finally subscribe to Netflex and take a sabbatical to catch up.
