Hello! My name is Linda and I'm a mixed-media artist, instructor, and designer, teaching mostly to women, but occasionally men. I specialize in paper arts, but also books & journals, dolls, wearable art, and assemblage projects. I live in a small town in NC, and love to travel & shop at antique stores for supplies to use in my class kits. I also love to crochet while watching TV.
I've been collecting rubber stamps for 40+ years, and prefer wood mounted over cling, though I own thousands of both.
I love sending & receiving decorated and handmade envelopes through the mail! Everything leaving my house is in a decorated envelope whether it's going to the IRS or a donation to the SPCA.
More fascinations I adore: handmade envelopes, foreign vocabulary cards, vintage postage stamps, antique ledger books, typewriters & typography, numbers (especially 4’s and the #14), zinnias, sunflowers, tulips and pansies, paper ephemera like tickets, sachets, vintage linens & antique quilts.
I especially enjoy swapping postcards of all kinds. Those are some of my favorite swaps, especially vintage and b&w PC's.
A favorite collection: my old black & white photographs, mostly of women and groups of women, laughing and doing silly things, that I use on my journal pages, adding captions of witty sayings.
I love making journals of all shapes and sizes and then filling them with cheerful as well as unusual ephemera and rubber stamped images. I have multiple smash books, junk journals & art journals and love all the new, bright, cheerful supplies and pockets to adorn my pages.
I do a great bit of travel to teach classes, but also because we love sightseeing. We bought a new 2017 Mercedes Winnebago so we get to see far more of this great country. Road trips here we come!
I've been to England 3 times and France once. Would love to visit England again.
My favorite number is 14. Do me a favor. If you've read this far down my profile, please include the number 14 on whatever you send me. Write it, stamp it, cut the numbers off the page of a magazine or book. Tape it down, use a glue stick, or slip it loose in an envelope. Sending a PC? You can still add it on there somewhere. Let's see if I'm clever enough to find it and mention it when I rate you. Wanna play?
I love to read, preferring mysteries or humorous fiction.
Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I like both cute and scary.
Christmas means snowmen, lots & lots of snowmen!
Favorite color: Yellow Every room in my home is a shade of yellow, mostly a creamy butter shade of the palest yellow.
I collect unique pigs: multiple wire and metal pig baskets that hold face clothes in the guest bath & plants in the kitchen. My favorites are pig wind chimes my brother sent me from his 25 years in England.
My studio is filled with beautiful little bowls to hold beads, rubber bands, clips and embellishments. I find them in thrift & antique stores for $1-$2 each.
I have a 700+ sq. ft. studio filled with art I've made, far too many supplies, and art I've received. Since joining swap-bot my boxes of mail art are overflowing, which is a good thing!
I'm now making envelopes from old topography maps, calendar pages, book pages and scrapbook paper just to keep up with the amount of mail I have going out daily.
I own more than a dozen different sets of alphabet rubber stamps and use those often on my mail art.
Oh my, I’ve now enjoyed over 9 years of incredible swapping! Thanks to everyone who has sent me fabulous swaps and rated me graciously when you've received one of mine that meant a lot to you. Here's to another great year!!
All my mail is carried to the post office for weight and postage verification and I tend to add too much rather than too little.
I love anything handmade! I've received coasters and tote bags that I treasure from partners on Swap-bot. I don't sew and therefore love that someone would take the time to make me a gift with their talents.
In winter months I like plain hot chocolate and keep mini marshmallows on hand for a cup most evenings, and I like warm & fuzzy socks.
I love all stationery from note cards to note pads, pens, markers, bags, stickers, etc.
I love lemon and citrus in candies, soaps, candles, lotions, etc. I love candy corn, caramels & butter rum Lifesavers when I can find them.
We have a three year old male black Scottish Terrier named Beemer after hubby’s BMW so anything with the black Scottie motif is always welcome.
I love birds, bees, butterflies, dragonflies, and botanicals. Anything from stickers to postcards or book pages of illustrations would be much appreciated. I also love handmade envies of all shapes and sizes. Small scraps of sturdy decorative papers for punching and banners and altering are also welcomed. And if you make decorated bookmarks, pockets or layered embellishments, I’d love to be the recipient of your talents!

So very glad you and your friends got a kick out of the 14s. I told a pal that this swap was supposed to be about bookmarks, but I got completely carried away with the envelope. LOL! Enjoy your trip, and your reading!
