Hi, and welcome on my profile!
Who I am? Well I'm a Romanian girl, living in Cluj-Napoca, the capital of Transylvania...no, I'm not a vampire:P. I just got my medical degree this summer, start working in January (hopefully).
I discovered Postcrossing about 3 years ago, and quite enjoy it. A few days ago learned about swap-bot and thought I'd try it. So, here I am.
I love traveling, but seeing as I was not born in an endless pile of money, I can't travel non-stop:(. So, until I get to go to places, I try discovering as many of them as possible through you guys! Fellow swappers:D.
I like postcards showing places. Pretty places, special places, unique places. I like to learn about other cultures, customs, traditional food, national holidays, fauna and flora of other countries...you get it! So postcards of these things. And I like them written and stamped...and dated, please!
I like people. I like to learn about other people's lives, thoughts, feelings. So whatever swap we're partners in, please attach a letter telling me something about you, your life, your home.
THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY AND SMILE:
Traveling - as stated above
Dogs
Other animals - not very big on cats. I mean I do find them cute, kittens mostly, but live not in photos:P
Plush toys
Cooking - just discovering it, actually
Keepsakes
Board games
Computer games
Comics - bigger fan of Marvel than DC, but I like both (favorites - X-Men)
The smell of coffee
Holidays - Christmas is the best time of the year
Extreme sports - I'm really determined to try as many as I can...hopefully all, especially those including flying. I went paragliding this summer and I loved how it feels being in the air
Swimming - unfortunately not the best swimmer, but I manage. I hope I'll improve my skills, anyway. Would love to go scuba diving somewhere with clear water, colorful fish and corals
Sandy beaches - seaside is awesome. Also, I want to learn how to surf. Wanted to go to a surfing camp in Portugal with a friend but couldn't
YOU - and anything you like and want to share
OTHER INTERESTS:
Gift ideas
Crafts
I haven't really figured out what my DISLIKES are...at least not those relevant for swaps:
Discrimination, of any kind
Cruelty
Violence
Religious themes - long story. As I said I want to know more about other cultures, so if there's a big religious thing about your country then I want to see/know about it - not adopt it! (ex. I was born in a city really close to a monastery where a well known priest lived and served God, so I do send postcards with the place, or with him...to those interested in such things, of course). Personally, I like churches for architectural and cultural reasons only. Also, religious themed stuff (big scenes) on big religious holidays are ok. As long as they're not too religious, and kitsch. (A nice scene - artistic masterpiece nice - of the birth of Christ is ok on Christmas.) This could actually offend me in a swap, if you try converting me! I'm good with my beliefs now! So, big, interesting, different, specific to your country/religion facts only, that could go under "hey, did you know that...?". Maybe this sounded a bit too agresive, not my intention, but I've had my share of overly religious people. I do respect others beliefs and, of course, if you are big on such things I'll do my best to send you very religious things.
Tea - I only drink peppermint...and a few others, only for medicinal purposes.
The taste of coffee - only drink Latte Macchiato (so basically, milk with a tiny lil' drop of coffee)
I'm a people pleaser so I promise I'll do my best to fulfill my partner's preferences...in the limits of my resources (financial, artistic, and the shops' offers)!
