I am 68 years old and retired. I was born in upstate NY, raised in RI, and have spent the last 40 years mostly on the west coast (CA, OR, and currently WA). I have a daughter and two wonderful grandchildren.
My hobbies are traveling the world, gardening, landscape design and art. My trips are usually nature or archeology focused.
I have an off-beat sense of humor and love to laugh.
I like all kinds of music from hard rock to classical. Country music is my least favorite.
I like to read science fiction, thrillers, and historical novels.
My favorite current movies are Avatar, the Bourne series, Indiana Jones, anything the Coen brothers have produced, and good science fiction. I can't imagine existing without Netflix.
My favorite TV series are Fringe, Damages, Eureka, Criminal Minds, and Color Splash. I like to daydream while watching International House Hunters.
I do not consider my self an artist, but a creative person. My career gave me opportunities to be creative with ideas. In the past I did loom beading with size 14 beads but my eyes don't work the same now.
Since retirement I have been working with crafts, particularly collage. I have started drawing but it still scares me.
At least once a month my daughter, niece, granddaughter and I get together for craft night. We had a lot of fun doing Halloween projects. Now we are doing collage and ATCs. We exchange ATCs within the family.
My favorite things are birds, crows, parrots (especially the blue and gold macaw which I have tatooed on my wrist), peaceful meadows with mountains in the background, wild animals, tropical islands, ancient Egypt, trees, plants, coral reefs, fish, geometric shapes, building architecture, all colors, textured papers, and metal and watch findings. I also love words; unusual, hybridized, used differently, in weird combinations. And last, but by no means least, I love dogs. I have a bichon havanese (Maggie Mae) and a sheltie mix (Timo).
