My name is Carla, I live in Northern Wyoming with my guy. I have two grown daughters, a new grand-daughter, but no pets. I am recently retired, and loving my new small town life.
I am really into:
PODCAST! In May 2020 I started a podcast. Look for "Wyoming My 307" on itunes, Spotify and Google Podcasts. In it I explore the people, culture, wildlife, geology and history of the least populated, and most wonderful, state in the continental US. I take listeners on a monthly tour of another corner of Wyoming. Please check it out - linked above.
Podcasts - I really like listening to podcasts, my favorites are This American Life, Serial, TedRadio, The Read. I'm trying to think of a way to fit this into a swap!
In fact, I love podcasts so much, I STARTED A PODCAST! The link is above.
Latin Music - I love folk music from Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina and Bolivia - my favorite is Mercedes Sosa and the soundtrack from the movie Frida.
Pop - I like Adele, Dixie Chicks, Sara Evans, Stevie Nicks
MUSIC I WANT: * I really enjoy "mix tapes" of your local or favorite music!
I have always loved to read - I find that I get sucked into the internet a lot lately and want to get back to reading more regularly. It seems to me that online reading is making me have a shorter attention span, and I don't like it!
Books I've loved: * Anything by Isabel Allende, Annie Proulx, Maya Angeolou or John Irving * Cold Mountain * Not a big self help reader, but I really enjoy everything written by Gretchen Rubin, and follower her podcast - The Happiness Project
BOOKS I WANT: * Outer Order Inner Calm - Gretchen Rubin
I don't have cable but I do have netflix and I love watching movies!!! Some movies I've really loved: * Amelie * Frida * Bridges of Madison County * Oh Brother Where Art Thou * Sophie's Choice * Super 8 * Sense and Sensibility * Whale Rider * Rabbit Proof Fence
I also really enjoy documentaries, my most memorable ones are: * My brother's keeper (the one that started it all for me) * Cutie and the boxer * Grey gardens * Making of a murderer * 13th
I enjoy making little pocket sized scrapbooks when I return from a big trip. For that I like various washi, stickers and beautiful ephemera.
I like to crochet and knit, using soft, natural yarns. I can't read patterns and would love to learn.
I like to try my hand at shabby chic style, and have redone various pieces of furniture.
I love to camp in my 2017 T@b camper and am still outfitting it some. I try to keep it simple but am still looking for twinkle lights, a pretty oilcloth table cloth or other nice little details.
I love food and snack swaps - I enjoy pretty much everything, but especially like ethnic or local foods, snacks, spices and sweets. I like spicy, sweet, and a mix of sweet and savory. I like gum, candy, cookies, chocolate, chips, crackers, mints - especially anything local (can't say that enough!).
I really enjoy cooking and would love you to share a favorite, fast, amazing recipe (nothing that starts with a can of creamy soup, or a bottle of italian dressing or other premade stuff).
I generally keep to healthy foods but am always up for a treat! I don't drink coffee, but love tea, cocoa, and other variants.
World religions - I grew up Catholic, and enjoy the occasional prayer card or medallion, but don't want to be inundated with religious stuff. I am however always interested in religions of the world.
Nature - I love the outdoors, kayaking, hiking, camping, and generally learning about nature. I am always bringing home a cool rock, twig, moss or shell from my forays. If you have something cool in your area, I would love receive it - a giant pinecone? some lichen?! yes please!!
I would be so happy if I received:
Fun pair of socks (I dress pretty plain, but love fun and colorful socks. I'm ok with used so long as it's clean! send me those crazy socks you don't wear!)
Hair related items - headband, hair tie, pins, clasps.
Lip stuff - I don't wear a lot of makeup, but enjoy lip gloss and chap sticks.
Bath related things - salts, oils
Nail polish - clear, skin colored, gel pink

Because I haven't set up a permanent art space, I have focused my efforts on paper-crafting (it takes up relatively less space). I would love to receive or trade any of the following: - washi tape, especially neutral tones, natural colors (coral vs red; forest green vs kelly green) nature themes - REAL ephemera (definition: memorabilia, typically written or printed paper, that was originally expected to have only short-term usefulness or popularity.). Maps, interesting printed programs from museums or galleries, used postage, old letters, old report cards, etc. - stamping supplies (ink you don't like, stamps you no longer use)
