Hello, I'm Eline, a 27 year old girl (I still consider myself a girl) from Holland. I live with my husband and four crazy Maine Coon cats, and work as a social worker with children. My hobbies include running, swimming, writing, reading and I love to go out with my friends, or see a movie. I also love traveling and meeting new people.
As a person, I really don't know how to describe myself. I have ADD so my mind is a very colorful but weird place, were many ideas form but not a lot of it is actually executed. (BUT: don't worry, if I promise to do/send something I ALWAYS do. I hate liars and cheaters) I like it this way, and would never use any medication, although it might make it easier, I love my creativity, impulsively, and I never worry to much since I can't concentrate enough to do so, haha. I love doing anything that broadens my horizon, love learning new things, new cultures, new foods ect. But I also like being alone, and need my alone time because I get very irritated if I don't.
Music is not something I'm very passionate about, although me and my Ipod are very much a pair :) I like different kinds of music, and I shows on my favorites: I love Katy Perry, Elly Goulding, Daft Punk, Norah Jones, Justin Timberlake, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Fray, One Republic, Lifehouse, 30 seconds to mars, Lady Gaga etc. I like techno and deephouse when I'm out but never listen to it when I'm home.
I love reading! I like fantasy (Robin Hobb, David Eddings, Tolkien, Rowling, Jacqueline Carey), classic and romantic (Colleen MacCullough, Margaret Mitchell), and modern (I am a big fan of anything from Donna Tartt) And I love Isabelle Allende (I cry every time I re-read Paula, and that happens a lot). Also, I sometimes just need distraction, so I read Young Adult books. Like the Hunger Games, Insurgent and the Mortal Instruments. (I'm obsessed with Magnus/Alec fanfiction) Basically almost anything, if it catches my attention the first 10 pages. I have an e-reader, which I use on vacation and there are more than 40 books on there. Currently reading The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell
Romantic comedies must be banned, haha! I love action, thrillers, animation, arthouse, comedies (but without the so-called romance please). My favorites: The Matrix, Wall-E, Terminator, Watchmen, Inception, Alice in Wonderland, Gone with the wind, God bless America, Kick-ass, Despicable me, Phantom of the opera, Inglourious bastards, Avatar, Zombieland, Shutter Island, Up, Lord of war, Tropic Thunder, Paris je t'aime, Pulp fiction, The Imaginarium of doctor Parnassus, Boyhood, The simpsons movie, Wolf of Wallstreet, Resevoir dogs, Zwartboek, Avengers, Boondock Saints, anything Quintin Tarantino, etc. I recently saw Interstellar and it blew my mind.
Criminal minds, Dexter, House, Flash forward, Big bang theory, South park, Scrubs, Orange is the new black, How I met your mother, The Simpsons, The office, The Walking Dead, The Newsroom, Penny Dreadfull, Game of Thrones, House of cards, Homeland. I'm a Trekkie that also loves Star Wars (and really hopes Disney doesn't mess it up!). My guilty pleasures are Say yes to the dress and anything on the E! channel. But I only allow myself to watch that crap when I'm sick or bored out of my mind. For some reason it's addictive. And I love documentaries, the 'True life' series of MTV and the Discovery Channel. I watch TED talks like crazy. Brene Brown is my hero. Also love youtube way to much, I can watch hours of 'honest trailers', top tens, 'react to', Tyler Oakley, Amazingphil, Smosh, Tyler Oakley, etc. Not good for when I have to study.
In no particular order
Because I seem to sign up for a lot of tea and chocolate related swaps it seems fair to have a separate catagory for these. So here we go:
Tea: * I love green, white and rooibos tea. Any variety. * not a big fan of black tea unless it is some kind of special edition thingy (for instance, we have caramalized pear tea in Holland and I llllooovvvee it) * Also a big fan of herbal tea. I have Crohn's decease so soothing tea's for my stomach are always welcome. They mostly work really well. * Before I go to bed I always drink 'sleep' tea. I'm really curious about this kind of tea from a different country. * Other flavors I adore: jasmine, rose, cranberry, lavender, ginger
Chocolate: * I really dislike white chocolate. Come on, it's doesn't deserve the name 'chocolate' if it doesn't have cocoa in it! * also a BIG dislike: chocolate with mint. In my mind, they really don't go together. * The darker the better if it comes to chocolate * I love nuts in chocolate. Especially pecan's or pistachio's. You have my eternal gratitude if you get me this. * When it comes to chocolate, I love nice packaging. Really cute looking things get me exited.
I always rate as soon as I have received something, and I really hope you do the same. I believe in rating fairly, which to me also means rating a 1 or a 3 when deserved. I will always contact you if I don't receive anything to give you a chance to resend. If you are going to be late for a swap, please message me before the swap deadline. If you don't, and you send late, I will probably rate you a 3. Not to be mean, but it is part of the rules of swap-bot.
If I receive something that I find I have no use for (like ribbons ect.) I will swap it with someone else, because I think it such a waste for me to keep it when someone else may want it. I try to re-use packaging, and never decorate it because of curious post-office people.
If I press the 'I send my stuff' button, that means your package/postcard is in the mail. So if you don't receive anything, please contact me and I will resend!
Uhm…this is pretty much it, I guess. If you are looking for a penpal, of want to do a private swap, I would love that, so please contact me!
I'm not doing a lot of swaps at the same time because of money and time restrictions. I want to make sure I have enough time to do the swap properly. Also, swapping comes and goes with me, so sometimes I don't swap for a long time and then I get into the spirit and do it a lot. I always make sure I complete all my swaps before taking a break, as my ratings show.
