January 2010 - Apologies to my swap partners about the delay, my basement was flooded over Christmas/New Years, and we've been playing catch up since. If I haven't contacted you, please let me know, I should have my swaps caught up within the week.
Australian living in New Jersey with my husband. I like knitting and reading and cooking and (occasionally) gardening. I'm always interested in trying new foods and lollies (candies) and try to make myself a new recipe every couple of weeks. I have pretty relaxed language, although I will try not to swear in front of your small children, your Mum or your Nanna!
Crowded House, Neil Finn, Time Finn, Spiderbait, Skyhooks, K.D. Laing, Billy Bragg, Kirsty MacColl, Abba, Taylor Hicks, Jonathon Coulton, Mika, Paolo Nutini, The Fratellis, The Vines, Wolfmother, Amy Winehouse, Lindsay Smith, Nickel Creek, Chris Thile, Mindy Smith, The Duhks
I'm not bothered by swearing or strong language in music, if it's integral to the swap theme, you know?
13 going on 30, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Muriel's Wedding, Shawshank Redemption, Princess Bride, Hot Fuzz, Shawn of the Dead, Kinky Boots
Scrubs, The Office, My Name is Earl, 30 Rock, Knitty Gritty, Everyday Italian, Everything with Nigella Lawson, Kylie Kwong, Wide Open Country, The Simpsons, Ugly Betty, Healthy Eating with Ellie Krieger, Firefly, Drive, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
knitting, beading, and a smidge of crochet. I'm also a brand new spinner with a small but steadily increasing stash of roving. Just a drop spindle so far, but that's how it starts...
I like all yarn, but prefer soft to scratchy. If you can rest it next to the neck of a small child, and count to 10, and they don't start fiercely scratching? That's my yarn.
I make many small things (scarves, hats, dishcloths) so single skeins work well for me. Hand dyed yarn is very cool, and I'm working my way over to doing that too.
General Likes:
I like most colours, red and purple being favourites. I love all teas, and am fine with caffeine. Lip gloss, lip balm, anything of that nature I love! I always have one in my pocket, and one in my coat, and one in my bag and so on and so on.
General Dislikes:
Candles make me sneeze. I'm not a fan of cherry flavoured foods, other than actual cherries, it tastes like medicine to me. Wintergreen isn't my cup of tea, and coffee's wasted on me (it tastes bitter, and I end up having to put too many sugars in it). I don't like artificial sweeteners.
I don't use any cosmetics other than lipgloss/lip balm and my basic moisturisers. The only cosmetics I use on my hands is hand cream - no nail polish.
NOTE: If you're ever running late with a swap, just send me a note, I know things happen. I'm trying to fill out more of my profile, but I like just about everything! I'm siging up for these swaps because I'm interested to see what other people send to me. Really, if I wanted exactly what I can buy for myself, I'd do just that. Stuff from people who aren't me, different from me, that's a cool thing. If I can see you put thought into your swap, that's the real meaning of these swaps for me.
Christmas Afghan Swap - I'm using Victorian Colours
Friendship Afghan - I like jewel tones, not pastels, and not the neons. The colours you see in Amish quilts, rich reds and greens and blues and purples, those sorts of colours.

Wanted to let you know that I had to ANGEL for the Crochet or Knit Cup Cozies swap.
I am sorry for the delay in this comment. I love the mailman and Rudolph you sent me. I have had it sitting on my desk since I got it. Today I tacked it to my bulletin board. It is always nice to just get a Thank you. so Thank you
Welcome back!!!
Hi Amanda - I realized you never rated me for the March spring cleaning dishcloth swap- Hope you received both the dishcloths and the cleaning recipes I sent, and if so, please find time to rate the package! Thanks!
You have many swaps that are past the send by date. Please consider others, you should drop out of all your other swaps that have not yet assigned partners. You can always sign back up once you get caught up. It is not fair to those of us that send out our swaps on time.
Awesome! Thank you so much for the dishcloths and cookies. I love them!
Thank you so much for hosting the Emergency Knit Kit swap! It's such an awesome idea!!!
Thanks for joining the Dishcloth swap. Please try to ship within a couple of days of the 14th and I won't be a stress basket, wait much longer that and my children and husband are going to ban me from doing anymore swaps. I've been out to your web site, and my 7yo son and I need to know where we can find a caganer?
Have a great day! Christine
Hi Amanda, I just want to make sure you got the "Surprise From my Profile" package. Please rate me when you can, unless you intend to ding me for being so f'ing late! LMAO.
Amanda, Thank you for angeling the stitch markers. They are GREAT! I love the colors and beads you chose.
