Due to lots of new art and life opportunities I have been too busy for lots of swapping, but I am still here, checking messages and scouting for the occasional swap! 10/09/2012
Hello! I am an artist living in the east of england. Sometimes I also get to work in museums and a local art shop, so life is good! I live in the city with my corn snake Azazel, so snake skins are always availible!. My subscription to the Fortean Times and regular charity shop raids keeps me supplied with weirdness.
I think mostly I will be here to trade art work/paper dolls, PCs and zines with people, but some materials and weird stuff would be good too.
I tend to draw, print and make installation work, check out my website if you would like to see what I do:)
Absolute top of wishlist
KOH-I-NOOR HARDMUTH 1820 pencils!!
My boss brought one back from Paris and it is the sexiest pencil ever! 8B especially but I would love any other grades. Can't get them in the UK:( It has to be the 1820 though (they are fat and black)
Art: Any geniune expression, I'd rather get something that was truly YOU than made to my preferences
PCs: See my general likes, bizzare, morbid, erotic. (not so into kitsch) Old postcards of animals (not pets, unless weird), taxidermy or zoos Freakshow, medical, tribal artifacts, religous artifacts,
Zines: I fancy starting a collection of adult/erotic zines, but anything that is made with passion is great:)
For my Mum:
She is making a mental patchwork quilt out of less than 1 inch hexagons at the moment, so small scraps of patterned cottons, dark reds, burgundy, dark greens, browns, fawn, blacks would be great!
Generally, I have a taste for the bizzare, morbid and erotic.
I like: (Disinfected!) dead things, bones, animal bits and weird natural objects
Religious things from any religion
Shrines, magic, alchemy
Old scientific things
Medical pictures
Porny things
People's art work
Weird old photos
Small curiosities that end up in my "cabinet collection"
Burlesque, freakshow, circus chic
Lovecraftian stuff
Things (especially to wear) that are absurd
Stars and skulls (yes, not very cool, but true)
Things made by people who are geniunly earnest and honest about what they do and who they are.
I will not be offended by anything you send! Whether it be rude, sick or nasty
I don't drink teas or coffee, not even herbal teas. But I do love hot chocolate:)
Generally I am not particularlly girly, so don't really like cute or pink, unless they are deeply odd.
Really ugly kitsch or retro tat (although I have lots of friends who love that stuff so it would always find a home!)
Not keen on the colour yellow
Not into sport either.
Jewellry:
I don't have pierced ears, and don't wear clip on earings either I have a reasonable new nape piercing, so necklaces are out of the question at the moment but pendents are still welcome because I clip them with saftey pins as broachs
