I'm Little Cat, currently living in Toronto. I spent half my life in Hong Kong, and 2 years in Australia. I'm a university student/aspiring diplomat married to a brilliant photographer. We have a photography company that we run together. Our beautiful Boston Terrier is named Koharu and our cranky orange tabby is named Cranberry-Sue, and we're currently dogsitting the world's cutest Boxer, Oskie. I'm new to crafting, but have recently fallen in love with fabrics since my husband's grandfather sent me a sewing machine from Japan as a wedding present! I'm clumsily trying to figure out how to use it in time to make a quilt for my sister's soon-to-arrive baby! :-). I LOVE coffee, dancing, making people smile, and green tea. I only ever wear heels, except to the gym, which would be stupid! I'm looking forward to participating in my very first swap, and hope to meet some new friends!
Cantonese and Japanese pop, R&B, ambient electronic, UA, Eason Chan, Amel Larrieux, Corneille, Talib Kweli, Morcheeba, Imogen Heap, Bjork, Mary J. Blige, ISAN, Mary Mary, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Kirk Franklin, Royksopp, Broken Social Scene, Feist, Common, Beck, Timbaland, reggaeton.
the Pickwick Papers, Life of Pi, language books. Due to heinous university life, I rarely get to read for pleasure.
I like independent Canadian films, subtitled foreign films, British police dramas, Bollywood romances, and quirky, off-beat comedies. Some of my favourites would be: Amelie, Maria Full of Grace, Tokyo Godfathers, Royal Tenenbaums, Little Miss Sunshine, Tanguy, Brown Sugar, the Life Aquatic, Wimbledon, Quebec-Montreal, Ararat, Wasabi, and documentaries.
I love cartoons (Iggy Arbuckle, Adrenalini Brothers, Angela Anaconda), House, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Law & Order: CI, and Martha Stewart. I also like to watch HGTV's design shows.
I love: everything purple, Amy Butler, apple green, midcentury modern design, vintage fabrics from the 60's and 70's, turquoise, Marimekko, sunshine yellow, and red. My favourite fabrics are almost always Alexander Henry - right now I LOVE Yui Kokeshi in wasabi and his Noguchi pattern in a happy yellow. I also love traditional Asian patterns, Echino prints, happy florals, Shinzi Katoh, woodland creatures (especially squirrels, owls and deer!) and whimsical things. I collect Japanese lusterware teasets, animals made of chirimen crepe, and cute stationery. I occasionally paint, and am planning to begin making ATC. My mother-in-law helped me make beautiful noren (door curtains) for my house, which I really enjoyed. Other than sewing, I'm very inexperienced with crafts, but I'm crazy about baking!
country, Disney, dark, scary things, gothic stuff, flags, Hello Kitty, wolves (I'm terrified!) ^_^
Overall, I'm pretty easy to please, and I just like sending and receiving things in the mail.
