I have been a collage artist for over 10 years. Recently a friend got me hooked on mailart. Collaging and making mailart has become a huge part of my life. Even my kids have fun making mailart with me.
I stay home with my kids. I used to teach precious metal clay, chainmaille and wire weaving jewelry classes all over New England. I still have my jewelry studio but I have not tinkered in it for years. Right now my passion is playing with paint, collaging and making gelli prints.
I love postage. Since I started sending mailart in January, I have started collecting vintage postage collections from eBay. I am also spoiled to have a antique store less than a mile from our house that understands my joy of paper ephemera and anything vintage including: scrapbooks, typewriters, game boards, ledgers, letters, books, photographs, magazines and postcards. I love old paper!
In my free time, I enjoy binding books, tearing up old books and painting in them, mixed media, gelli printing, painting, and most of all collaging. I can spend hours meticulously cutting images out of new and vintage magazines. I have spent many hours organizing my growing stash of collage images.
I have the best husband. He likes to surprise me with date nights in Boston which include a visit to the Blick art store and a ride on the Rose Kennedy Greenway Carousel.
My family and I are super excited to foster some puppies from Aruba. To see pictures of the puppies check out my Instagram page.
I have an amazing friend that inspires me to work outside my comfort zone while I'm painting. I'm having a blast. I have a growing stash of mail art that I am ready to send out and share.
Some of my favorite interests are: cooking, healthy living, organic gardening, non-gmo's (yeah I'm the crunchy mom), reading, swimming, gardening, animals (love our chihuahua and cat), yoga, meditation, QiGong, reiki, beach, vacations in Florida and Cape Cod, movies (I love Romantic Comedies).
I'm happy to participate in pretty much any swap, they just need to be remotely clean since my kids get the mail from our mail box :)
