I grew up in a family that made and fixed everything. So, I was taught to sew as a young girl and by HS I was making all of my own clothes. I also learned to embroider, crochet and knit. I love fabric and will always sew in some form or other. Right now I'm exploring quilting. My non-sewing hobbies include painting, paper crafts, fimo sculpting, jewelry making, fly tying, photography, and cooking. I'm a dabbler in many things and an expert at none!
Classical, opera, Motown, hip hop, oldies but goodies.
I'm one of those people that has the TV running all of the time. I'm not sitting and watching, I'm just used to the background noise. When I do sit and watch it is usually a BBC show. I've gotten hooked on a couple of reality TV shows. I record them and then watch after hubby has gone to bed! It's my secret indulgence. I like Judge Judy (and other judge shows) and when asked why I watch them, I say that I'm studying for the bar exam!
Like many of you, I love thrift stores, garage sales and estate sales. I purchase things I don't need just because it was a good find!
For exercise I like to walk and have recently purchased a new bicycle. I've always liked the idea of yoga but just can't get into it.
I like anything vintage: Children's picture books, recipe cards, pens, photographs, sewing notions, seed packets, magazines, music pages, etc.
Any ephemera for ATC. Surprise me!
Lisa Frank items. Stuff from the Dollar Store - I can buy those items myself. In general, swap items that do not have any thought put into them.
I will be thrilled with any pattern you choose to make. I'm also open to any fabric colors and patterns you pick. I'm working on a FW quilt and am using red and pale aqua. I'm easy to please as long as you put care and effort into what you make. If you wish to leave it "unfinished", I will include it in the quilt I am making.

Hi Midge, I am just checking to see if you received the Food ATC. I mailed it several weeks ago. If you didn't get it, let me know and I will send another. I don't want a bad rating. :-)
Midge...hopefully the rating changed now...so sorry I did not see your name with the Profile Comment you made for our swap. Thanks for enlightening me.
Wow! We have many similarities! I, too, learned to sew at an early age and made my clothes too! My aunt also taught me to crochet when I was 8 years old and I enjoy relaxing while doing so. Yes, I like a couple of reality shows, some gearing toward Alaska theme, but a couple in other genres :D . I hope you have an awesome day!
Welcome to Swap Bot, enjoy the crafting & have fun! Happy weekend.
![Happy Monday]
Welcome to swap-bot! :) I think it's awesome that you sewed all of your own clothes in high school! I have always wanted to be able to sew, but no one in my family knew how, so I just never learned. :) Also, I would be curious to learn what fimo sculpting is. I've never heard of that before. :) I hope I get to see photos of your crafts one day! :) They sound amazing.
