I am new to Swap-bot but very excited to be able to participate! I look forward to handcrafted items and postcards!! Thanks :)
I am 53 years old and have always been the "crafty" one - making most of my gifts by either painting, sewing, cooking, jewelry, etc.... My friends and family all love receiving my gifts but have a challenge reciprocating with the "handmade" items....and that's okay, but I am so EXCITED about this forum - a way for ME to receive wonderful surprises from others while I get to give even more!!
I live in New Orleans and I'm from Alabama, can't take me out of the South! Or the South out of me... I travel all over the world as a corporate event planner and take ideas with me from everywhere I go...this aids in the collection of elements that go into the items I put together - an eclectic mix of thoughts / ideas / things / etc....
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!
Early Folk music is my favorite but I also love 50's, 60's and 70's rock, classical, country - lots of favorites and today my rememberer isn't working so great so I'll have to wait until another day to list everything!!
I read all the time - I love novels - not so much romance, but suspense, historical, murder mysteries....I rarely watch tv because I've always got a book or two or three laying around the house.
I love to cook, I really love aprons, napkins and dishtowels...I have a great time making aprons for everyone in my family.....would love to do an apron swap here if one comes up!
I love bottle caps from regional soft drinks / beer - if anyone wants to send me bottle caps I would love it! I don't want national brands like budweiser / Miller / Lite / Heineken but I do love Coca Cola / Dr. Pepper / 7up / Crush and any local soda/brewery caps....lots of color!!
And BEADS - I love handmade beads and incorporate them into my artwork every opportunity I get - whether its a stick or an addition to an apron, Beads are always welcome!
Postcards - I love vintage / artsy cards. Touristy cards are okay, but only if they aren't cityscape scenes - elements that make the city unique are great - but not buildings... I really like the postcard to look like something you'd like to hang on a wall somewhere...
Handmade fans are wonderful - menopause has hit and I'm always needing to cooled down - I love to use them and explain where I got it and who gave it to me!
AND anything handmade - I love handmade items - it gives me a piece of your heart and I always cherish that ... at least that's how I view my pieces, and hope that the one who ends up with one appreciates the time / thought / effort that went into the creation!!
I could go on and on and on, but I wanted to get something posted about my likes and not so likes....any questions, please ask!! Nan
