Graduate student, adjunct lecturer, knitter, occasional photographer, crossword fan (regular and cryptic), trying to get back in the habit of writing letters regularly.
I mostly knit, but I can crochet some. Socks are my most recent favorite project, although I have a few sweaters that I plan on starting soon. I also sew occasionally (although don't have a sewing machine at the moment and my [small] fabric stash is still at my parents'). I've been going through a bit of a counted cross-stitch phase lately, but we'll see if that sticks. Paper crafts and other things that require much artistic talent aren't really my bag, though. Sadly.
I read a ton for school (around 1,000 pages/week, usually), so haven't read for pleasure much in a while. This summer I had the chance to read a few books for fun; the one I enjoyed most was probably Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose. Other books I've enjoyed are the Harry Potter series (of course), The Book Thief, G.K. Chesterton's works, The Eyre Affair, and Michael Ende's Momo.
I'm not gonna lie; lately I've been watching a ridiculous amount of Law and Order: SVU. In general, I like fast-paced comedies like Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Veep, The Thick of It, and similar. I'm also a fan of Doctor Who -- classic and revival.
