It's been a while since I edited my profile. For any who have recently been by, please know that I am fine and dandy, with an almost-one-year-old, and well past health concerns mentioned previously, thank God!
I joined swap-bot for the sole purpose of participating in ATC swaps, while I learn more about this intriguing little art form. I'm not adverse to being contacted for other swaps, though, if you happened to wander here.
I'll be up front and tell you now that I almost always send my swaps on the last day. I like to ruminate on my ideas for ATCs, and frequently I go through several steps to make them. (I'm sure many or most of you know exactly what I'm talking about.) Since my mail comes early, this means that they might be postmarked the next day when they are picked up. I lead a very home-centric life, but if it is feasible for me (usually it's not!) to take it to the post office instead, I will.
[A word about extras: they're fun, but I generally don't think much of them, and many times don't find them useful. I rate according to the parameters of the swap, and I hope others do the same with me. But I would hate to discourage someone with a generous heart who likes to throw in a few extras for fun. People have surprised me with some really nice things. And I pass on what I can't use, so it's not wasted. But you don't have to send me anything except a really nice ATC. (Or whatever we're swapping.)]
I am interested in all things Catholic. A few other tidbits... I like Lord of the Rings, Jane Austen, Jane Eyre, the color green, classical music, and elementary nature study. Quirky's fine... dark or macabre, not so much. Oh, and I strongly prefer "flat" ATCs--no thicker than 1/8", and that's pushing it. I won't say I dislike--3D cards can be really interesting and beautiful--but I like my depth and texture to come from technique rather than physical space.
