Witches Brew - Elixirs
The qualities of any stone or crystal can be captured in liquid form.
For instance, a simple Agate will prevent nightmares and also strengthens the heart. It is believed that Jade helps detox kidneys. A little research into the Stone Nation and using what you have on hand will work for this beverage. Moonstones are calming stones. Be sure to wash your stone under running water to get rid of impurities.
Get a small glass jar with a lid; some pure filtered water and your stone. Charge the stone by holding it in your right hand, sending the purpose of the Elixir into the stone. Place it in the water. Seal the jar tightly and place the stone in water in the jar out on an Eastern window to get sunlight and moonlight for up to 9 days/ nights to complete the spell.
You may drink the entire portion of water or add a few drops to other beverages for 9 nights (if you did this for calming energy), remembering what you infused the waters to do magickally. You are only limited by your imagination.
The Stone Nation is very powerful energy to work with as long as you remember they vibrate quite slowly and steadily.
Witches Brew - Honey Mead for Lammas
1 gallon of filtered water
2 tsp. cinnamon
A sprig of saffron (I have some so if you need it, let me know)
2 tsp ginger
5 whole cloves
2 capfuls of rosewater
2 1/2 pounds of honey (try to get local)
12 oz of either cut fruit or fruit juice
1/2 cake of yeast
Bring water to a slow boil with all the herbs so a tea is formed. Add honey until dissolved, then add the fruit or juice. Cover tightly & boil 15 minutes. Cool to lukewarm & add yeast til dissolved. Cover with a towel for 2 days before straining & bottling. It may need to be aired periodically to prevent pressure build-up.
Some folks will bottle this and save it for the next year to get the full flavors. If you make it now, I think it is ready for the August High Holy Day.
