Hello! I’m Shelby, Im 25 years old, and an obsessive artist, crafter, and snail mailer! I spend nearly all of my time in my art room, constantly blasting music and working on my latest project.
I am from Connecticut. However, I am going back to college, and this time I will be attending Cornell College in Iowa. I hope to continue to participate in swaps once I am completely settled in.
I love to travel. I’ve been to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, BVI, Puerto Rico, England, France, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Czech, and Germany. I still have so many places I want to go! It’s an adrenaline rush. It’s been a few years now since I’ve traveled out of the country. But, I’m hoping this will change soon! If you have any solo travel recommendations I’d love to hear them! Especially, if specific to Greece, Ireland, Japan, or Korea.
I'm dyslexic and apologize for any spelling mistakes. I try to be good with catching them , but just in case, I apologize ahead of time.
I am most definitely a massive paper and craft supplies lover (hoarder). I already have more paper than I could ever conceivably use, and yet, I still feel like I never have enough or the perfect piece. Lol.
The only thing that rivals my obsession with making art or crafting, is my love for organizing my art room or buying/ acquiring craft supplies and storage containers. An entire corner of my art room is designated to the massive toppling tower of empty storage containers that I love so much.

I absolutely love receiving address labels! Always so helpful!
Im not very picky so I'm happy with anything but a few things I do tend to dislike are; Orange, Reward stickers, and political items.
I Love to collect postcards! I collect all sorts and am fine with whatever you would like to send. I love and prefer collecting blank Postcards unstamped in envelopes but also love reading postcard with messages!
Postcard wishlist: Deer, Elephant, holiday, Coffee, postcards from movies, tv shows, anime, specific books.
For kawaii swaps, Im not too picky and will like anything I receive. The type I love to receive are stationary sets, mini stationary sets, sticker flakes, washi tape, and mini paper envelopes or ziplock Baggies. My favorite brands to collect are Sanrio and San-x. My favorite characters are tarepanda, sentimental circus, and tuxedo Sam. If anyone happens to have the rilakkuma or sentimental circus collection with fairytales such as Alice in wonderland, little red riding hood, or Cinderella. My #1 favorite that I’m always on the search for is sentimental circus sailor!
Im a tv show addict. I have seen hundreds and if I really enjoy the show I’ll re watch it over and over again while crafting. Some of the shows Ive loved in the past are:
Supernatural
Kdramas (open to recommendations!)
Doctor Who
Izombie
Once Upon a Time
The Magicians ( current obsession)
Outerbanks
Game of Thrones
Studio Ghibli
Im a big anime fan. I love to talk to other fans and get new recs! I can’t keep track of them all, but some of my favorites are:
I am also a fan of K-pop. My favorites are BTS and GOT7. I’d love to do a private K-pop swap if anyone is interested!
Update:
2024: On Aug. 16th 2023, I started to experience on and off again, intense pain in one or both of my hands. This now requires the occasional use of a brace. Thankfully, it has been months since it was debilitatingly bad. However, every once in a while, I still experience a bad day. Which, in a pinch, may result in swaps being typed, done by proxy, and/ or in the mail later than I intended. i’m sorry for any inconvenience.
2023: Unfortunately, I have a few medical issues that have led to a couple hospital stays and physically not being able to access my supplies or mailbox. I am very regretful that this has ever happened. During these periods I do still try to get as much done as I can. Usually, however, the only thing I can do is have friends or family members mail swaps for me. I promise i would never forget to complete a swap. Nor would I ever flake. When I sign up for a swap I absolutely will send and keep sending until a mail from me is received.
I am accepting of my rating. While I very much hope that some of the bad ratings will be able to be rectified, I know that most were in fact late and there is nothing I can do to change that. I am glad I am still able to join and have fun in swaps regardless. I believe the fact that my rating is 4.98 despite such ratings goes to show that I am in fact a dedicated swapper.
2019: I absolutely love swapping and did so vigorously for many months. Unfortunately, completely out of the blue my mental and physical health took a decline in March 2019. I was so unprepared- I had half finished swaps and recently purchased supplies for st patricks day themed mail! Unfortunately, treatment and my health lead to me dropping out of school and not being able to continue any of my normal activities- including swap-bot. I'm thankful to be back and be able to swap again and am so thankful to the people who helped make it possible to return to swapping!
Swaps:
I love swapping and believe it should be fun and not stressful. I am of the opinion that mail issues nor personal issues ( health, family, ect) should be held against someone. Especially when people often work very hard to have a good rating. Life happens and we shouldn’t hold that against people. This is supposed to be enjoyable and because we want to share art and supplies. Not so that we can get a report card. I, personally, hardly ever rate down and give swaps ample time to arrive before messaging my partner. I do not care how long it takes for a mail to reach me. So, take your time if need be.
