I am a native Northern NYer, which means I live 40 minutes from the Canadian border. We have 4 seasons here and I like this one the best (autumn). I am married and have two adultlike children, 20 years old and 22 years old. I love dogs and have 3 of them, 2 Great Danes, a beagle. My favorite color is green, but I like colors found in nature. I like to knit, crochet, quilt and work with felt and scrapbooking. I am thinking of other types of projects I would like to do. This is a new venture for me, but sounds like fun and possibly a challenge, so that makes it even better.
Generally I like "new country", I do like celtic, folk and bluegrass too though
I like recipe books for some reason. I also like psychological thriller books, and mystery stuff. Like James Patterson and David Balducci
I don't really care for movies, too long to sit in one spot, occassionally I go to the theater for a new movie, I like action movies, Indiana Jones type movies.
I watch the do it yourself channels, MSNBC, History channel, Food network and I am a Survivor fan
I like textiles and paper the most.Knitting, crochet, felting, scrapbooking, Christmas ornaments any sort of adornments, stickers and scrapbooking items with figure skates and outdoorsy themse.
Things I like: dogs, Great danes and beagles nature, the woods, freshly mown grass the color green, but only the shades found in nature. I like deep colors, very rich ruby reds, saphire blues, emerald green and amber yellow. I like cloth, yarn and textiles, felt and paper products, especially postits and notepads.
I love to read any mystery and psychological thriller, I like NASCAR, Tony and Kyle Busch are my drivers I think I lean toward pagan beliefs, but am not too religious
Things I do not like, polyester, pastels and neons. Radical opinions about any subject. Jimmie Johnson. animated characters, from cartoons
My husband and son are hunters and outside people. My daughter is a figure/synchornized skater so any paper, cloth in those motiffs are fine.
We, my mom and daughter enjoy working on quilts together, lately we have been cutting up sweatshirts and t shirts for teenagers getting done with school and making memory quilts, we love this too.
I work with people with developmental disabilities, it doesn't pay much $, but has many other rewards. I have done this work for almost 25 years and most days I still love it. I like neat things for my office, and have a folkart type of theme in there, I like posters that reflect real people and places and currently have ROsie the Riveter and some men working on a high rise with no ropes during the 40's on my wall. I like things that promote acceptance of differences and items that are crafted in a traditional way like baskets made by native americans, etc, anything tradition and reflective of a culture.
I am very interested in seeing a whimsey jar and an atc as well as a matchbox. These are all new items that I am learning about since joining swap-bot. I think I might be interested in each of these things but would like to see them. I also may try my hand at a dotee doll, and could always get information from seeing one in the flesh.
WISHLIST: as far as paper products go, I like anything with nature, dogs, or just plain paper that would go with those themes. I like bits of ribbon, yarn , anything to embelish with. My daughter is in elementary education, so anything she could use for that would be welcome as well. I do like fat quarters and use them to make bandanas for my great dane.
Explanation of 1's - the threee ones I received for the getting to know you exchange, I have tried to go back to resend the answers however, due the swap being closed I cannot get access to the three people who did not receive it. You will note that it was an exchange for 10 people and the others did rate me for it. the other one for bbq sauce- the person who rated me is suspended, therefore I cannot reach her, I have a postal confirmation of the swap though. Please note my other swaps are all 5s and many Hearts, I do honor my swaps.

Hi, I have read your reply and I had decided to give you 5 for the items after comparing with your reply. It does meet the requirement. But I am now having problem loading to the rating page and thus unable to change my rating. I will change the rating to 5 next time. Btw, I really did not received the pm from you, but its okay now.
I hope that your b-day is special
Hi Shelli!!!
We have 12 Great Dane puppies born April 12. There were 7 girls and 5 boys. They are all strong healthy and lovable. It is going to kill me to let them go, but geez, you know I have too!!! Otherwise I would have 14 Great Danes. I can't even imagine the food bill!!! I post pictures of the puppies on my Flckr Page. (Link is on my profile page here)
Thank you very much for the Sophisticated Pick 2 tag: The rapunzel scarf and recycled sweater mittens made by you both are wonderful, but I especially loooove the mittens :) I can't wait for the next winter or cold climate I'll visit!
Did everything arrive alright from the Thrift Shop Swap? I didn't see a rating, so was just double checking. Hope you liked it all!
I have two Danes also. Morticia is 2 and weighs 133lbs and Gomez is (1) and last time we checked, he weighed in at 145. I think he is still growing a little. They are both black with white markings. They are our big ole babies!!! I sent you a friend request and would love to do a private swap with you.
I would be happy to make you a matchbox.
Hi, birthday twin! Thank you so much for the February Wishlist. The handmade, upcycled mittens are awesome! Would you believe that it was 78 degrees on Sunday, but it SNOWED a couple inches here in Texas yesterday? It was the perfect opportunity to try out the comfy mittens. Thank you for thinking of me! :-)
