I am a graduate student at UNT studying Information Science. I'm an avid fan of music and am looking to swap some tapes, cds, or even mini discs. Mostly through the mail though, because I like to have a hard copy.
My favorite music is kind of hard to get down, but lets just say late 90's sub-pop scene and electronic music. That does not mean that is all that I have. I've got over a month of music on my computer, and it grows daily as I import in records, CDs, tapes, and mini discs.
Mostly I read science fiction and general nonfiction books. From both groups I would have to say that "Dune" is my number 1 favorite book of all time, and my most cherished nonfiction book has to be "The God Delusion".
Movies follows the books in terms of what I want to watch. You can get me into a movie theatre by just saying "Science Fiction", "Documentary", or "Just Some Weird Thing". My two favorite science fiction movies are "2001" and "Blade Runner". I think those two movies paint pictures of the future that are stark contrasts. One everything in the future is clean, and the other is a dirty existence for humans. As for documentaries I would have to say that I like "The Fog Of War" because it shows just how evil Robert S. McNamara was. If you're looking for a good strange move, I think it might be called science fiction, "Sound Of My Voice" is a good one to check out.
I don't watch too much television because all of the shows that I fall in love with are always cancelled after one or two seasons. I normally wait until a show has survived for a few seasons and watch it on Netflix. Yet, in no particular order they would go something like this.
:: X-Files :: Battlestar Galactica :: Star Trek (all of them) :: Frontline :: Nova :: Big Bang Theory :: American Horror Story
I'm not that crafty, but I do knit. I'll also make postcards and other things, but I'm not that involved in crafts.
