I'm older than I feel....50-year-old woman living in Portland, Oregon. Tod Sahonchik is my family nickname that I used until I graduated from college. I love to knit. I am an educator by profession. I am a 15-year vegetarian and animal lover. I have two amazing boys (14 & 20) and a wonderful partner who plays banjo. I'm also an NPR and KBOO (our community radio station) addict and I hock some of my/ my family's stuff at tods.etsy.com. My favorite colors are purples, greens and blues. I also enjoy reds, oranges, pinks. I'm a taurus so I'm an earthmother sort who loves kids, animals, art, nature, etc...
celtic, bluegrass (the banjo playing teen got me into this genre), old time, Grateful Dead (of course!), White Stripes, Gram Parsons, The clicks, bossa nova, John Prine, Fiona Apple, Django Reinhardt.
Jim Jarmusch movies, To Kill a Mockingbird, oh, yes (my favorite with Gregory Peck). Mr. Smith goes to Washington, Persepolis, Little Miss Sunshine, Madame Tutli Putli, Ironman and various documentaries like Dogtown and Z-boys and No Direction Home (Bob Dylan). I'm picky about the movies I watch and generally skip the usual blockbusters and choose foreign or idiosyncratic stuff. The above are some old movies I wrote quite awhile ago. I'm partial to Wes Anderson stuff these days.
Don't really watch TV. If I do, it is probably The Colbert Report or 30 rock or something funny.
Knitting, making recycled crayons, stencils, making zines, gocco printing, yoga, listening to my banjo playing boyfriend...
I love to receive cool stationery or postcards of any sort, little toys, knitting magazines, candy!!, bluegrass music CD's, coffee, natural soap or bath products, high quality teas, natural fiber sockyarn (of course!) and hippie-style nature girl stuff. My favorite yarns these days are Noro multicolored worsted and Blue Moon Fibers Socks that Rock sock yarns. What are your favorite yarns? Thanks so much for reading!!
