I live in California on a very large ranch. Some of it is used to raise cattle. Most of it is the natural setting: oak and pine trees and rolling hills of grassland.

I like to write about my personal experiences and draw what I see in nature. I read non-fiction and collections of short stories. I grow flowers and vegetables every year.

I bake bread and cookies. My signature dish is Chile Verde. I have a tabby cat named Silas, and on rainy days we build a fort with a blanket and two chairs in the living room and bring out the toy basket.

I collect rocks and stuffed animals and small figurines of elephants. I like to make things in miniature. Basically, I just like to make things. And I like to get mail.

It's really fun to listen to the Beatles when driving. Or the Doors if I have too many errands. But I like all types of music.

Cabaret, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Spirited Away Movies that my friends say I just gotta see. Then I Netflix them, and then we have a long conversation about the plot, the characters, and the theme.

Reality shows: Project Runway, Top Chef, Dancing with the Stars, Amazing Race, Survivor, American Idol - I know, I know, what the heck is wrong with me? I like some HBO series. I loved Six Feet Under.

I like to make applehead dolls. That involves design, sculpting, sewing, problem solving, and randomness. I'm into paper craft as well.
