I am a 25 year old mum of an 11-month old baby girl from a small tourism-oriented town in Canada. I manage a small gift shop full of interesting things. During the summer, we carry tons of tourist items as well as some other everyday gift items. Our store also has a kitchen in the back where we make fresh fudge! I take my daughter (Vada) to work everyday (5 days a week) and feel very lucky to be able to do so. I collect cards (greeting cards) and save them for the right person/occasion.
I am really enjoying swapping on here, and I am definitely up for private swaps, just pm me. I especially love swapping for new/unusual food items (stuff I can't get here).
I WOULD MUCH RATHER RECEIVE QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
would be happy to receive:
•baking stuff: cookie cutters, baking cups, all kinds of fun sprinkles/baking decorations
•magnets (souvenir or otherwise)
•felt food (for pretend play for vada)
•unique chocolate/candies (love dark chocolate and quirky food items, also love the spicy/sweet combo)
•locally made/roasted coffees (beans or ground)
•locally made teas (from wherever you are) *uniqueness is key here...I don't really need any more plain green tea!
•locally made jams, jellies or whatever food items are uniquely from your town/locality
• food stuffs: i like most flavours out there including but not limited to black licorice, ginger, chipoltle, lemon, lime, peppermint, cinnamon, maple, rum, coconut
•new (unused) greeting cards (I collect them for later use) -- not so much your typical drugstore cards but other lines of unique cards... birthday/blank cards especially..unusual is great in my books...humour is good too! Rude humour has potential to be great (NOT gigantic cards please)
•recipes (especially from "Cooks" magazines!)
•cookbooks
•baby/child items for my little girl
•Christmas ornaments (especially unusual ones -- I love my 'santa riding a gator' ornament that my mom brought back from florida)
•candles (Scents: lavender, pine/fresh cut grass/rain/clean laundry, & fruity/bakery -NOT vanilla/patchouli)
•all natural lip balms & hand creams (again, NO vanilla please)
•stationary/scrapbooking stuff
•(local) beer (I like most beers, but prefer a darker brew, not quite as heavy as Guinness...generally not a fan of wheat beers or citrus infused ones)
•(local) wine (red mostly, but white is good too)
•souvenir mugs/beer glasses
•stuffed animals (not real ones, just the toys plz)
• socks (my shoe size is women's US7)--NOT the "toe socks" please
•souvenir keychains
•souvenir/funky reusable tote bags
•souvenir t-shirts for my hubby (small men's) or for my daughter (12m & up plz) -- not for me though!
•children's books also colouring books, crayons/markers/pencil crayons
•bath toys for Vada
•kids hair barrettes/bows (my daughter has plenty of hair)
•mittens! Winters are long here!
•souvenir bibs/socks
•cutesy erasers (especially food-shaped ones)--can't find them around here, but always thought they were neat
•Dark chocolate with sea salt --LOVE IT!
•Sea Salt (the coarse kind)...infused/smoked or natural
•dairy-free, gluten-free, and/or organic eats/treats (no allergies or strict diets, but would eventually like to steer my diet along that track...also interested in picking up new food items/lines for the store)
•anything Kenyan for my hubby (he misses home)
•antique tins (my mum collects them and I would love to add to her collection)
•sewing patterns (I'm a beginner)

•baking
•travelling
•cooking
•camping!

I'm not very crafty...but I would like to get into scrapbooking...just to put a scrapbook together for my daughter...I have the book and wack of pages to decorate...but not many stickers and the like.
I also recently acquired my first sewing machine which I am eager, but also slightly wary to use...I got it because I want to learn to make homemade baby clothes...but don't have much time to get on it yet...
