On February 2nd, in the USA and Canada,Groundhog Day is celebrated. There is a saying: “On this day, when a groundhog emerges from his burrow and doesn’t see his shadow, we can expect an early end to winter. However, if the little critter does see his shadow, we are in for six more weeks of winter’s wrath!†This tradition has been observed since (at least) 1886 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Originally, in Europe, any hibernating animal would do, but here it's Punxsutawney Phil. Thus a Groundhog Day Postcard Swap. In observance of this event, each participant will make and send Groundhog Day themed postcard to one (1) partner. You can decorate it as you like, You just can't buy it! Each participant will have one (1) swap partner, to whom they will send one (1) postcard. I will angel if necessary, but please, DON'T FLAKE. If you haven't the time, don't sign up for the swap. I'm relying on everyone being responsible for sending their postcard. You must be rated 4.8 to sign up, with no 1s or 3s in the last four months. If you want an exception, send me a private message with an explanation. |
