Date items must be sent by:August 31, 2013
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

Send 1 partner a letter (at least two full pages) in a pre-paid envelope - the kind where the post office prints a nice mark on the envelope specifying a certain amount of postage is already included. Vintage would be nice, although it is likely to require that you add extra postage.

The sign-up deadline is a month out to give you time to check your post office for pre-paid envelopes, or to find some on eBay (or where-ever). Senders choice, so you can write your letter in advance if you'd like.

That's it. Keeping it simple. It's my first time creating an MZA swap, so sorry if I'm missing any of the criteria you have come to expect.

Hello Betsy, please help me understand this swap: 1st - Yes, I know about buying pre-paid - USA postage printed on an envelope - addressing the envelope & putting return address, then mailing the envelope with a letter enclosed.
Though this is an "Interational" flat mail swap, so extra postage would have to be added to the pre-paid postage on the envelope & it would need to be marked "Via Air Mail" if the letter & envelope were going overseas?
My health problems lately are causing my brain to slow down & I want to make sure I'm not creating confusion here.

You just have to make sure that you have 46-cents if you have a US partner (and a letter 1oz or less), or $1.10 if you get an Intl partners. You can add postage to the existing-pre-paid amount to make up the difference. I've never marked intl mail "air mail" - I think pretty much everything goes by air by default these days.

Hey US bot-people... Here in Canada we have three classes of postage - Canadian, U.S. and International.

I think you should lobby your post office for a special rate for "Cross Border" mailing.

I'm in for this one, and I will try and add some old stuff to the Pre-Printed stamp.

@eepy we recently had lower rates to Canada (and Mexico) but with the last rate hike they lumped you guys in with the rest of the world :(

As for the swap - I only have 3 of these envelopes left so I'm happy this is only for 1 partner!

Hi gang - the post offices in USA still sell these over-the-counter, the last one I got was about 2 months ago -- a bluebird, it said 46 cents & think I paid maybe 56 cents or so, as envelopes aren't free, lol.
