Round 24: These can be store bought or handmade. Good quality Zazzle are fine. Okay, this month is going to be tough! The letter is X. This might be a month when we all handmake our postcards! (Or create them using digital art if we're that way inclined). For the letter "X" the "X" has to be the noun, like xylophone or X-Ray or xebec. (A xebec is "a small three-masted Mediterranean vessel with both square and lateen sails, formerly used by Algerian pirates and later used for commerce" according to my dictionary. ) Whatever it is it should be pretty noticeable/obvious. It should not be a postcard from Xalapa in Mexico, for instance, unless it says Xalapa on the front of the card. Just a nature photo wouldn't be obvious of the location. The themes should be very stand out where even a child could identify what it is. Feel free in this round to think about people whose names begin with X. Saint Francis Xavier? Xerxes the Great? Xantippe, wife of Socrates in Ancient Greece? But if you create a card with a person on it, make sure the name is on the front of the card as well. I told you this month was tough. But we can do it! Normally a postcard swap is a Type 2. Because I think that practically all of us will end up making our postcards, I've changed it to a Type 3 for this month, but next month we'll go back to Type 2 as normal. I've also given us more time between assigning partners and final sending deadline. But as it's senders' choice, you can start working on it as soon as you sign up for the swap -- you don't have to wait to find out who your partner is. Send the postcard naked -- addressed and stamped -- to your partner. Be sure to include your username and the swap title so you can be rated quickly, and RATE your partners. I have a zero tolerance for non-raters. I will check everyone's profile before I assign partners. If you have overdue swaps or unresolved '1's, you will be dropped from the swap. Have fun! |
